Marvel Rivals has just announced the next upcoming limited-time game mode, this time shining the spotlight on the sneaky Strategist, Loki!
In Marvel Rivals, the limited-time special game modes are often crazy new takes on the game that involve focuses on certain characters, hilarious and wild rule changes, and general twists on the Rivals formula. Let’s take a look at what this mysterious new Loki-themed mode will contain.
Marvel Rivals New Avengers-Themed Game Mode Features Loki, Infinity Stone Powers, & More
Marvel Rivals recently revealed a teaser/preview post on social media regarding an upcoming limited-time game mode release. This new addition is part of a tie-in event with Marvel Studios titled ‘The Avengers’.
This new game mode during the upcoming ‘The Avengers’ event takes form of an ‘asymmetrical PVP’ mode, according to the social media post. And when it comes to whose under the spotlight for this mode, it’s none other than Loki!
The Avengers tie-in game mode will arrive in Marvel Rivals in April 2026. Gameplay involves one player taking the role of Strategist hero, Loki, and facing off against six other players who play other heroes from the Rivals Roster.
As for which heroes will be available, or if this includes the full roster, that is yet to be confirmed. A healthy assumption though, would be that it involves characters who are part of the Avengers, fighting against Loki and all.
However, in this limited-time game mode, Loki doesn’t have the hero kit that Rivals Players have come to learn. Instead, he will be equipped with a brand-new array of skills to use involving deception, illusions, and abilities derived from the powerful Infinity Stones!
In an attempt to claim victory over Loki, the other heroes can summon Hulk once certain conditions have been met, recreating scenes from the film. In the words of Marvel Rivals – “Master deception, mind-control, and make the battlefield your playground.”
This likely won’t be the last limited-time Avengers-themed game mode to hit Marvel Rivals across 2026, too. Rivals have also announced a series of Avengers-themed events leading up to the arrival of the Avengers: Doomsday film.
As shared on social media, new in-game events and game modes will be arriving throughout April – October 2026. Then, in December, Rivals will be ‘igniting the battlefield with all-new in-game content to celebrate the release of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday!’
Well, this all certainly sounds like a blast, and I’m intrigued to see what kind of ridiculous, fun, and unique concepts the devs come up with along the way.
