Marvel Rivals fans have been thrilled to discover an upcoming ‘Lady Loki’ or ‘Female Loki’ skin concept, which has been seen in promotional material and artworks for Season 5.5. However, after closer examination of this first look at the concept, some fans are convinced that this may not be a Loki skin at all, and may instead turn out to be a new skin for Hela.
Is the New Female Loki Skin Actually a Hela Skin in Marvel Rivals?
Marvel Rivals fans are able to take a first glimpse at the female Loki skin concept via various X/Twitter leaker and dataminer accounts. One of these posts has been included below, feel free to take a look:
As seen in the comments of this post, though, fans are concerned that this supposed Lady Loki skin looks far too close to, or perhaps even more like, Hela instead. This has already started to cause a wave of disappointment in Loki enthusiasts, who have been desperately hoping for this to be a Legendary skin with unique effects, voice lines/a feminine voice – the whole works.
But if this is a ‘Loki’ skin, why would Hela even gain it? Well, Loki and Hela have some interesting dynamics. Although they are mostly known as siblings in the MCU, Marvel Rivals lore recently retconned having them as siblings in a prior season and returned Hela to the role of Loki’s daughter – as seen in Norse mythology and the Marvel comics.
Because of this, it would somewhat make sense for Hela to gain a Loki skin. It would even be quite a fun concept to consider. However, as Loki is a shapeshifter, many fans also see giving Hela the skin an ‘out’, with Loki clearly being the more deserving recipient. It is quite literally a huge part of his character, after all.
There is no confirmation yet on who the Lady Loki skin is for in Marvel Rivals. However, many fans are leaning towards it being Hela for several reasons. Loki’s staff is missing, the artwork has a green glow to the character’s eye, as Hela is commonly depicted with, and the sharp finger claws/pointed nails.
However, there is also a number of reasons why this might not be a skin for Hela, and turn out to be a Loki cosmetic. While Loki’s staff is missing, there is also no sign of Hela’s swords, so the weapon can’t really be used as hard evidence.
Furthermore, while the green glowing eyes do lean more Hela, this could simply be lighting and effects used in the artwork and nothing more. The claws are probably the most Hela-like trait in this skin, over anything else. However, this skin also definitely uses Loki’s crown/headpiece, rather than Hela’s usual crown.
Also, considering Hela is quite literally Loki’s daughter in Marvel Rivals lore, is it really all that shocking to consider that a female Loki concept may look extremely close to Hela? Probably not, let’s be real. At this point it truly could go either way.
Hela mains would undoubtedly enjoy the cosmetic in the case that it goes to her, but at the expense of Loki enthusiasts. At this stage, players will just have to wait for further information or reveals to discover if the skin ends up going to Loki or his daughter.
