If you take the time to build relationships with the people around you in Heartopia, you’ll unlock memorable hidden quests. One such quest leads you on a small but meaningful treasure hunt involving Naughty. This quest rewards players who build relationships and stay observant. To complete the Treasure Hunt, you’ll have to track down a misplaced trekking pole.

How to Unlock the Treasure Hunt Gossip Quest

The Trekking Pole is part of a Gossip: Treasure Hunt quest. To trigger this quest, you need to first receive and complete two separate story requests on different days. These requests will ask you to deliver materials to Naughty and Cassie individually. Since story requests are randomly assigned, you may have to wait a few in-game days before both appear.

Once you’ve completed both tasks, keep an eye on your map. An orange gossip quest icon will eventually pop up. 

When the quest is active, head to Onsen Mountain and look for Naughty. He can be found on the northern side of the mountain, standing along one of the wooden walkways that slope down toward the beach. When you speak to him, he’ll invite you on a treasure hunt. Naughty will also admit that he has forgotten where he left his trekking pole.

Where to Find the Trekking Pole in Heartopia

After talking to Naughty, you’ll be given two possible locations where the trekking pole might be hidden: the Fishing Village or the Flower Fields. While both are mentioned, the correct location is the Flower Fields.

Now, make your way to the Flower Fields with the windmills, a bright and open area that’s hard to miss. From there, head uphill toward the campsite at the top of the field. This is where you’ll find Vernie, the NPC who manages the Flower Fields and lives on the hill.

Speak with Vernie and ask her about the trekking pole. She’ll confirm that it was left behind in the Flower Fields. Once you’ve spoken to Vernie, the objective will update, and you need to return to Naughty.

Travel back to Onsen Mountain and speak to Naughty again. Let him know that the trekking pole was left in the Flower Fields. He’ll be grateful for your help.

As a reward for completing the Treasure Hunt gossip quest, you’ll receive a retro desk lamp, a unique furniture item for your house.
