Resident Evil Requiem is one of the most anticipated video game releases of February 2026, so there’s very little surprise that the game has revealed a brand-new fourth and final trailer during the February 2026 State of Play livestream.  This offers a closer cinematic look at what’s to come, including the return of Leon Kennedy and some of the threats to be faced.

New Fourth Resident Evil Requiem Gives Fans Hype Leading Up to Release

The fourth Resident Evil Requiem trailer was revealed during the February 2026 State of Play livesteam. This tailer opens with a cinematic look captured on the PS5 Pro, giving players an indication of the world they can step into later this month.

Most significantly, the trailer offers a closer look at Leon’s return to the franchise – including some of the combat maneuvers, weapons, and types of enemies that you can expect to encounter. Fans were quick to note all of the details hidden throughout the trailer, sharing their excitement in the comments.

Many longtime Resident Evil players were quick to catch a familiar voice appearing in the trailer. This voice almost certainly points towards the return of Sherry Birkin in Resident Evil: Requiem, after last being seen in Resident Evil 6.

With the excitement of Sherry’s return, fans have been quick to share their hopes for more characters, such as Claire, Jake, Barry, Rebecca, and Chris, potentially making a cameo or return in the game, as well.

One user notes that Resident Evil Requiem seems to include the cut licker/zombie hybrid enemies from the Resident Evil 2 remake. Others share their excitement and predictions for the future, with Leon returning to the place where it all started. One fan mentioned, “Seeing the RPD station after Raccoon City was destroyed gave me goosebumps”.

Because of this, some fans are now predicting that with Leon returning to where it all began, this may be his very last Resident Evil title. We’ll just have to see how the events of the game play out and if that truly does put Mr. Kennedy on a path leading to new beginnings, or if he will remain a prominent character in future titles, too.
