The February 2026 Overwatch Spotlight announced a whole new era for the game with new story-based seasons. In an efforts to bring more characters to the game, it was also revealed that instead of three new heroes per year, fans would be receiving 10 heroes across 2026.
Furthermore, five of those heroes will be dropping in this new story-based Season 1, which is focused on Talons new uprising under Vendetta’s lead. Let’s take a look at each of these characters and what is known about them so far.
New Overwatch 2 Tank – Domina

Originally teased via a new short/comic featuring Vendetta, Domina, who had been no more than a shadowy silhouette at the time, stirred some theories from fans. Some believed her silhouette to be similar to the shape of the spider-arms from the early concept known as Recluse. Others believed she would be based on Hindu Goddesses, which are frequently depicted as having four arms/hands. We now know it seems to be more of the latter! According to the devs, she’s a brand-new Tank suited for poke gameplay.
As for Domina’s abilities, here’s what we know about them so far.
Photon Magnum – Primary Fire

- Charge-up beam that ends with a burst shot.
- Longest-range beam in the game to date.
Barrier Array

- Deployable shield in a wrapped shape, mitigating damage and helping protect from flanks.
- Unlike traditional shields, segments of Barrier Array can be destroyed individually, making focus fire an important part of taking it down.
Crystal Charge

- AOE damage ability that also replenishes her shields.
Sonic Repulsars

- Apply knockback effect similar to that of a Lucio boop, inflicts a stun if targets are knocked into a wall.
Panopticon – Ultimate Ability

- Strike enemies to trap them inside a barrier, blocking their damage and healing. When the effect ends, the barriers explode, dealing significant damage.
New Overwatch 2 DPS – Emre

Emre has been part of the Overwatch lore since the first game, but didn’t really start making his way back into the story until recently. With the addition of ex-Overwatch-agent-turned-bounty-hunter character, Freja, we saw her cross paths with Emre in recent comics, revealing he is far from the individual who first worked for Overwatch.
Now heavily modified with cybernetics , aligned with Vendetta, and struggling with a mind where it feels like he is at war with himself, Emre is ready to tear up the battlefield with these abilities:
Synthetic Burst Rifle – Primary Fire & Take Aim – Secondary Fire

- 3 round burst rifle, run and gun styled gameplay.
- Scope in to tighten burst spread – no mobility penalty while scoped, unlike other characters
Syphon Blaster

- Syphon Blaster deploys when Emre reaches a certain level of health, granting enhanced mobility and firing rate with explosive damage, and heals through lifesteal.
Cyber Frag

- Explosives that bounce off walls and apply burst damage. Can be used from behind cover/around walls.
Override Protocol – Ultimate Ability

- Emre’s cybernetics fully take over, launching him into the air and arming him with a cannon. This appears to operate similarly to Illari’s Ult, but he can fire off repeated explosions, or choose to charge up one massive blast that can one-shot enemies.
New Overwatch 2 Support – Mizuki

Uh oh, another ninja is in town! Mizuki is a member of the Hashimoto, the gang who have taken over Kanezaka, and Kiriko’s primary enemy. With Hashimoto ties to Talon, it seems Kiriko has a new villain stepping into the picture in the form of MIzuki – particularly because his latest mission involves infiltrating her vigilante group, the Yokai.
Remedy Aura

- An AOE healing passive similar to Lucio, but Mizuki can charge this aura by healing allies with other abilities or dealing damage.
Spirit Glaive

- Bouncing projectile that deals damage while also fueling his aura.
Healing Kasa

- A chain-healing abilities that bounces between up to 3 allies.
- Multiple charges
Katashiro Return

- A mobility ability that increases Mizuki’s speed and allows him to teleport back to his starting position.
Binding Chain

- Tether enemies to a confined area, grounding airborne heroes and grounding mobile heroes.
Kekkai Sanctuary – Ultimate Ability

- Create a protective zone – outer layer absorbs incoming projectiles, allies inside gain healing.
New Overwatch 2 DPS – Anran

Anran was first introduced in Wuyang’s origin story as his sister, who lived up to their family’s expectations by making it to Fire College. Unlike Wuyang’s soothing water abilities, Fire College students are the combat soldiers of the school, meaning Anran fits perfectly into that DPS role. Here’s a first glimpse at her kit:
Anran will be on Hero trail starting February 5, 2026, until Season 1 launch on the 10th.
Zhuque Fans – Primary Fire

- Fire two projectiles, stacking ignition passives to inflict burning on the enemy, resulting in chip damage.
Fan the Flames – Secondary Fire

- When used against ignited targets, deal double damage
Inferno Rush

- Rush forward, damaging and knocking back enemies whilst also gaining vertical mobility
- 2x charges
Dancing Blaze

- Phase to nearby enemies to deal damage. Can be timed perfectly for invulnerability against certain Ultimates or CC.
- Invulnerability window extends for each target hit.
Vermillion Ascent – Ultimate Ability

- Soar upwards before crashing down into the enemies, igniting all targets.
- If Anran dies before the ability detonates, Vermillion Ascent triggers an explosion, reviving her mid-battle
New Overwatch 2 Support – Jetpack Cat

Many Overwatch fans thought we’d never see the return of the fluffy white ‘Jetpack Cat’ design to the game. Well, we got ’em! We got Jetpack Cat! Sure, she may look a little different from the original concept, but there’s still all of the core aspects of the concept intact, and she’s still one of Brigitte’s cats, so I’m sold.
Here’s a look at Jetpack Cat’s abilities – note that far fewer abilities have been revealed than other characters, with the devs planning to keep other parts of her kit a secret until Season 1’s launch.
Lifeline

- While in flight mode, Jetpack Cat can attach a tether to allies to help move them around the map.
Catnapper – Ultimate Ability

- Pounce on enemies from the sky. The closest knocked-down enemy gets attached to Jetpack Cat’s tether, allowing you to fly them off the ledge or into your enemy team for an easy kill.
