Pokemon Legends: Z-A has a new addition to the mega evolution library that will certainly be a favorite going forward. Mega Lucario Z is a secondary mega evolution for the popular Pokemon. You can make use of the new powered-up team member in the upcoming Mega Dimensions DLC.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s New Mega Lucario Variant, Explained
While Mega Lucario Z looks quite different from the mega evolution you have been familiar with since Pokwmon X and Y, it is keeping the same Fighting and Steel typing. While Pokemon in the past that have received multiple mega forms have sometimes gotten different types, that doesn’t appear to be the case with many of the Mega Dimension additions. Another example of these Pokemon retaining their original Typing are the two new Raichu Mega Evolutions, which are both Electric Types.
What Are Z Mega Evolution Pokemon?
When the new DLC comes out, you should expect more Pokemon to get the “Z mega evolution” moniker. The official Pokemon website describes the difference as the following:
“Z Mega Evolutions such as Mega Lucario Z need less time to fire off moves after receiving an order. But Z Mega Evolutions also burn through Mega Power very quickly, making them less suited for long battles, so try to settle matches as fast as possible!”
It sounds like these Z mega evolutions will be very focused on landing quick and furious attacks, potentially lending them to be a glass cannon of sorts in battle.
Unfortunately, we don’t really have a great idea of how else Mega Lucario Z differentiates itself from the traditional Mega Lucario at this point, but you can expect to see plenty of new Pokemon in Hyperspace Lumiose that aren’t available in the base game. With this being the first Z evolution announced, it may have a more significant impact on the story of the DLC.
