Overwatch Stadium has been a real hit for Overwatch 2, giving players a fun game mode where they can design progressing hero builds over a number of shorter mini rounds. New heroes come to the Overwatch Stadium roster at the start of each season minimum, with the possibility of additional heroes being added throughout each mid-season update or significant patches that introduce new in-game events and celebrations.
The latest of these heroes to join Overwatch Stadium in Season 18 is none other than iconic core character Tracer, taking the tenth spot on the DPS roster for this game mode. Tracer went live-in game for fans to play as of the Season 18 Persona Phantom Thieves crossover collaboration, which kicked off on September 16, 2025. However, it seems Tracer hasn’t managed to last all that long in Stadium, as only two days later she has been promptly temporarily disabled due a pretty significant bug.
Overwatch Stadium Tracer Bug & Temporary Removal From the Roster

Tracer has been one of the most highly anticipated DPS heroes for Overwatch Stadium because, let’s be real, there’s so much potential for creating fun and crazy Stadium Powers & Items from her kit. As discussed in the official dev blogpost, Tracer’s Stadium kit involves the likes of utility builds through passive healing based on damage dealt to enemies, increased ammo + lifesteal combo, deadly backline assassin tactics, and even creating portals that act as one of your ‘Blinks’, but for an ally.
However, while Tracer has undoubtedly made a strong start in Stadium with plenty of players having fun and builds already pouring in, she has already been temporarily disabled from play less than three days into her Stadium lifetime. Why, you may be asking? Well, due to a nasty bug, Tracer could sell equipped items then quickly use her Recall ability. The result? She was keeping buffs that the previously sold items provided, essentially enabling her to stack buffs to the point of being unkillable.
While this is somewhat hilarious that her abilities were able to be manipulated in such a way, this is, without a doubt, a bit of a problem for Stadium matches. The devs have acted fast and are obviously working hard to iron out these issues, so here’s hoping that Tracer makes a return to Overwatch Stadium very soon. No more going up against raid boss Tracers in the meantime, at least!
