With April upon us, Call of Duty players brace themselves for Season 3 of Black Ops 7 and Warzone. With this season’s aesthetics set to blue (think: frostyness and power), Activision’s content publishing aims to roll out updates centred on this theme. 

The official release date for Season 3 is set for Thursday, 2nd April, though timings may differ by region. The most notable here is Asia-Pacific, where players will be able to update the game on 3rd April. For all the details on Season 3, continue reading further.

New Additions and Changes in Black Ops 7 & Warzone Season 3

Activision provided the full season roadmap on Call of Duty’s website, showcasing a variety of additions and changes to Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame, and Warzone.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what to expect in the upcoming season: 

Endgame

  • A limited free-to-play window at launch for non-Call of Duty: Warzone players. 
  • New operation: Operation Poison Hill; complete to unlock Link Forger Glitch Fracture.
  • Loadout updates: each Operator will have their own Endgame Loadout. New Skill Track called Warband, followed by two abilities. Available at launch. 

Multiplayer

  • Nine new maps throughout the season; 5 available at launch, including remasters of Plaza and Gridlock. 
  • Debut of Demolition mode, followed by Aim High and Snipers Only. A new mode is also expected to launch mid-season: the Freerun Mode, to test your movement skills. Freeze Tag and Heat Wave Havoc are expected to arrive mid-season.
  • New scorestreak: the Ion Core, damages nearby enemies through pulsating radiation. 
  • Ranked Play’s Season 2 will kick off, introducing the same rules, loadouts, and maps as Call of Duty League. 

Zombies

  • New Survival and Cursed Mode Map, called Ashwood, to release at launch. Totenreich, a new round-based Zombies map, will also roll out with Season 3 Reloaded.
  • New mode: Zombie Battle; for 2 – 4 players. 
  • New Ion Core Scorestreak. 
  • The Classic 1911 Pistol returns, acquired through the completion of a Weekly Challenge. 

Call of Duty: Warzone

  • A new area or Point of Interest (POI), the Launch Pad, arrives within the old Verdansk layout in Season 3. Available at Launch. 
  • Gulag’s debut in Avalon, with three variants. Available in-season. 
  • New map rotations in Battle Royale for  Verdansk and Avalon. 
  • New modes include: the Launch Pad LTM, Hot Pursuit, Prop Hunt Royale, and the return of Iron Gauntlet. 
  • Resurgence Ranked Play continues.
