Crimson Desert comes with its fair share of magic shooting weapons, but one that stands out the most is the Darkbringer sword. The Darkbringer is an incredibly powerful and equally striking two-handed weapon, capable of felling enemies in seconds, and much of that strength is thanks to its special Abyss Gear.

Getting your hands on it, however, takes you deep into Pailune, where Black Bear brutes have made their presence known. So, know that it’s far from a simple trek, but should you stick to this guide, you’ll end up having one of the strongest weapons in Crimson Desert.

Darkbringer Sword Location In Crimson Desert

The White Wastes Sanctuary where the Darkbringer sword lies shown on the Crimson Desert map.

The Darkbringer is located in the White Wastes Sanctuary at the northeastern edge of the map, within the Five-Finger Mountain range. To help you get your bearings, Silver Wolf Mountain sits to the west, while the Whisperleaf Fortress lies to the southwest of it.

As you approach the area shown on the map, using Blinding Flash will reveal a nearby Abyss Nexus in the vicinity. From this fast travel point, head east across a rocky terrain, where you will come across a pit holding the partially buried remains of a giant.

Your lantern will encourage you to play a brief memory, but the giant’s skull holds the longsword you’re after.

Early Game Method (Hernand Approach)

Players must start from Calphade Castle to get the Darkbringer sword early in Crimson Desert.

For those in the early game who want the Darkbringer as soon as possible, they’ll need to travel far north from Calphade Castle, which is a long stretch to cover on foot.

Coming in from Demeniss and heading northeast is also not recommended, as you will run straight into Black Bears dotted throughout Pailune. They’ll decimate you with ease, and then having to scale the Silver Wolf Mountain is not forgiving either.

However, if you are already in Demeniss, it is worth taking the time to collect the full Frostcursed Armor set first if you haven’t already done so.

There’s a ton of running involved to quickly reach the White Wastes Sanctuary, especially for outrunning Black Bears, so the armor’s impeccable Ice Resistance helps offset the cold conditions of Pailune that impede your stamina regeneration.

With that said, make sure to unlock as many fast travel points as you can along the way. As you near the Five-Finger Mountain from the south, head out of the map’s bounds as shown above.

This will effectively teleport you near the Whisperleaf Fortress after a ten-second timer. From there, it’s a short trip northeast to reach the sanctuary and pick up the Darkbringer.

Mid To Late Game Method (Path Of Trials Approach)

The Path of Trials in Crimson Desert is close to the Darkbringer containing White Waste Sanctuary.

For those of you in the mid to late game, the process is far more simple if you’ve already unlocked the Abyss Nexus in Path of Trials. That’s because the sanctuary is extremely close to this Abyss, and you can simply jump off and glide down toward the Darkbringer’s location.

How To Use The Darkbringer Sword In Crimson Desert

The Darkbringer's stats in Crimson Desert.

Right off the bat, you’re getting yourself a longsword with a base attack of 22, along with a level three Critical Rate and level one Attack Speed.

It’s already a strong setup on its own, but the Darkbringer comes complete with five Abyss Gear slots in total, and three of them are already filled.

While two of these are already used to enhance the weapon’s critical rate and attack speed, the weapon is coveted for the other Abyss Gear, which is the unique Ators Orb.

Ator’s Orb can be slotted into other weapons as well, since Abyss Gears can be removed and reassigned through a witch.

Essentially, it allows your Forward Thrust attacks to release a barrage of golden orbs that track enemies, which adds a surprising amount of damage on top of what you’re already dealing.

Even better is the fact that the longsword can be upgraded further, which gives it even more staying power as you progress. You can comfortably carry it well into the later stages of Crimson Desert without feeling like you need a replacement.
