Obtaining some of the best and coolest weapons, like the Soul Spear, in Crimson Desert often means stepping off the beaten path and pushing into obscure corners of Pywel. You’re rarely handed such gems unless it’s from a quest, so a bit of wandering is usually part of the deal.

To get the Soul Spear early, there is at least a rough path to follow, starting from the Hernand Town and leading toward the Icemoor Castle Ruins, before things take an off-road turn into the harsher Argent Peaks. The path does not get any kinder from there, as the Tomb of Frozen Souls at the end is packed with troublesome enemies, but the Soul Spear waiting inside makes the trip worth it.

Tomb of Frozen Souls Location In Crimson Desert

The Tomb of Frozen Souls is located in the Argent Peaks, and the exact spot is the middle of the “H” in Hernand on the world map.

The route we took started from the Torchlight Beacon just north of Hernand Town. From there, we followed the winding road all the way to the Icemoor Castle Ruins, which is where the road effectively comes to an end.

After that, you’ll need to go off-road and head slightly southeast toward the “H” in a straight path. If you keep moving in that direction, you’ll eventually reach the edge of a cliff that overlooks a watchtower in the distance.

Below that cliff, you’ll find a ledge with a cave entrance, and that is what you are looking for. This leads to the Tomb of Frozen Souls, where the Soul Spear is hidden.

Note: Ensure you’re well prepared with gear imparting at least level 5 Ice Resistance, as you’re exposed to the cold weather. While it doesn’t pose an immediate threat to your character’s health, it negatively affects your stamina regeneration, which will indirectly cause you to have a tougher time against some enemies.

How To Get The Soul Spear In Crimson Desert

To actually get the Soul Spear, you first need to deal with a few enemies standing guard at the dungeon entrance, and one of them is a Warpriest holding an Abyss Artifact.

Once inside, you will find yourself in a vertical shaft with a large number of Antumbra Order enemies roaming around.

The Soul Spear is on the second-to-last ledge below, directly across from you. Glide over to that ledge, and in the room ahead, you’ll find the weapon embedded in the ground.

Approach it, and a prompt to take it will appear, but make sure you’re facing the cell in the room, or the prompt will remain greyed out.

Note: Some enemies will follow you into the room, which can prevent you from grabbing the weapon. You will need to clear them out first before the grab prompt becomes available.

Tip: The flying mages can be especially obnoxious, since you cannot target them with melee attacks. If you have Focus Level 2 with Focus Repulsion unlocked, you can press RB or R1 while in Focus to pull them down to the ground, which makes dealing with them far more manageable.

Once you have the Soul Spear, you can leave the Tomb of Frozen Souls by fast traveling to any Abyss Nexus or Abyss Cresset. After that, you’re free to test it out on a few unlucky bandits and see what it can do.

You can equip it in the two-handed weapon slot, and beyond its flashy appearance, it stands out early on due to its 27 base attack, which you unfortunately can’t enhance with upgrades or Abyss Gears.

However, it does come with an innate effect that releases spectral orbs in a fan-shaped spread after completing a full combo, dealing additional damage to anything caught in their path. This ability then undergoes a 10-second cooldown before you can use it again.
