How to Get the Coin Case in Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen

In Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, Celadon City has a fun little building called the Game Corner, enabling you to play different game machines to earn coins, which can then be exchanged for different prizes. Prizes include both TMs and Pokemon, making them a handy way to acquire a certain species or move.
However, in order to actually use the Celadon City Game Corner, you will need the Coin Case. If you attempt to start playing the machines before acquiring one, you’ll be blocked from using them with the message below, stating requirement of the Coin Case.

To acquire the Coin Case, exit Celadon City Game Corner and walk down. Underneath the Game Corner location, you will notice a row of green-colored buildings. The second building (or first one with a door), is the Cafe building.

Enter the Cafe building, and walk all the way up to the top left corner of the Cafe room. Here, you will find a man who is sitting at one of the tables. Upon speaking to him, he will reveal that he has been extremely down on his luck when it comes to gambling, and is calling it quits.

After exclaiming that he ‘won’t be needing this anymore’, he will gift you with the Coin Case, which will be added to the Key Items section of your bag.

Now, you can freely return to Celadon Game Corner and actually play the machines that you interact with. In order to play machines, you will need Coins, though. Luckily they can be purchased via regular in-game currency (Pokedollars) from the receptionist at the top section of this room.
- 50 Coins = $1,000
- 500 Coins = $10,000

You can earn even more coins by playing the slot machines, with machines costing 1-3 coins per spin. The amount of coins you play will determine how many rows are activated for that particular play. By matching symbols across various rows with each spin, you may win.
