Egg hunting in Monster Hunter Stories 3 is a core part of the gameplay, and something players will pour countless hours into. There are varying egg rarities and tons of monsters to collect.

But with so many monster eggs, how can you discern between them? Lucky for you, we have prepared this guide listing all egg locations in Monster Hunter Stories 3 and with pictures to help you recognize the egg patterns.

If you want to jump straight into those, you can use the table below or keep on reading to learn more about how monster dens work in Monster Hunter Stories 3 and what the egg rarities are.

Monster Dens

These are essentially caves that you will find on the map. Inside these dens is a nest of eggs, along with other items. Players can only carry one egg from these nests, and you must bring it outside safely.

It is possible to swap your egg in the nest, though there is a limit to how often you can do that each den. Moreover, each time you swap, the chance of you encountering a monster increases.

Sometimes a Strange Phenomenon might occur, and it will either give you infinite gathering attempts, have a bunch of Barrel Felynes running around, or have more, rarer gathering spots.

Egg Rarity

Fairly Potent – They have on shine.
Very Potent – They have a gold shine.
Highly Potent – They have a rainbow-like shine.

Monsters with better egg rarity have a higher chance of having high-quality genes and more open gene slots. Still, it is possible to transfer other genes to your monsters and unlock gene slots. And if you didn’t know already, you can hatch up to twelve eggs at a time.
