Linnea is the brand new 5-star Geo Bow character coming in the upcoming patch of Genshin Impact. While her details haven’t been revealed officially, her gameplay and numbers from the 6.5 beta can be found online.
She is a dedicated Lunar-Crystallize support and a perfect support for Zibai as of now. Since HoYoverse has made little to no changes to her kit in recent beta versions, we can confidently assume her kit will remain the same for release.
We all love pre-farming and using a new character to the full potential on day one. So, we have made this Linnea guide, explaining her best teams, builds, artifacts, and everything you need to know.
Note: The guide is created keeping C0 Linnea in mind. Moreover, certain nuances of her kit could change during beta, but the core best-in-slot setup should be the same.

Linnea’s Kit

She is able to convert Hydro-Crystallize into Lunar-Crystallize, and the core of her kit is Geo Resistance shred, EM buff, and healing. Her damage output as a support is also pretty solid, making her a well-rounded character.
Her buffs are good enough that she can be put in more teams than one would think. Unlike Escoffier, who is restricted in her team-building, Linnea is more flexible. Her ascension stat bonus is Crit Rate, making it easier to get a good crit ratio.
Key Info & Buffs

Linnea has 907 base DEF, which is among the highest in the game. It is the most important stat for her kit, after Crit Rate/DMG. As for the talents, Genshin loves to overcomplicate kits, but we will simplify them for you.
Her passives alone will give up to 30% Geo Res shred. She converts Hydro-Crystallize into Lunar-Crystallize. However, the biggest upside in her kit is that everything important scales with DEF.
Her Elemental Burst healing scales with DEF. For every 100 DEF, you get a 0.7 Lunar-Crystallize buff, with a maximum of 14%. She also gives 5% of her DEF as an EM buff.
Last but not least, she counts towards Moonsign, and while she is tailor-made for Zibai, she can also make other Geo characters pretty strong Lunar DPS if combined with Columbina.
Talent Priority

Linnea will almost always be used as an off-field support. As such, you only need to level her Skill and Burst. Her Skill will provide decent DMG increase, while her Burst will ensure better teamwide healing.
Depending on the level of investment and her current constellation, you can decide where to allocate your resources yourself. Linnea’s buffs and core mechanics lie within her Passives.
Constellation Investment

Constellations 1 (DPS increase) and 2 (Massive Crit DMG buff) are the biggest boosts for Linnea. C3 and C5 are a talent level increase, as always, while C4 and C6 are a big jump as well.
However, considering the level of investment a C6 requires, C2 is the perfect stopping point for many. Her signature weapon is of lesser importance than the first two constellations.
Best Weapons

Of course, her signature weapon will be the best-in-slot for her without a doubt. Aside from that, other 5-star options include Aqua Simulacra, Hunter’s Path, Polar Star, and Skyward Harp. These are all great stat-sticks with some having decent to okay-ish passives.
We suggest going for weapons with Crit DMG over Crit Rate because she already gets the latter as an ascension bonus. Overcapping on Crit Rate is very easy if you are using her with Illuga and have decent substats.
As for the 4-star options, the best-in-slot is the Nod Krai craftable, Snare Hook, which reduces almost all energy requirements. Other options include Favonius Warbow and Slingshot, though you would need a lot of ER in stats/substats with the latter.
Best Artifact Sets

There is a general rule of thumb for Linnea’s artifact sets. You don’t need her on 4PC Silken Moon’s Serenade, because either your C2 Illuga or your Columbina/Aino will wear it.
The choice then comes down to Husk of Opulent Dreams and Aubade of Morningstar and Moon. Both of these are her best-in-slot with no noticeable gap, so it all depends on which ones you have good substats on.
If you have yet to farm either of these, then ask yourself the following: Do you want Aubade for any other character? Are you building any Hexerei characters that scale with ATK%? If the answer to either of these is yes, then go with Aubade.
Main Stats & Substats

The most important stat for Linnea is DEF. As such, she should have DEF on both the Sands and Goblet pieces. Her Circlet should have Crit DMG with decent DEF% and Crit Rate.
However, if you aren’t using her with a weapon that gives Energy Recharge, it might be better to go with ER on Sands. Her energy requirements are high, and they only become more important in the Stygian Onslaught.
You want at least 3000 DEF for the full EM buff. Anything above that is good for her healing. Her energy needs may fluctuate depending on whether there is a Favonius holder on the team. Crit ratio should be 1:2, e.g., if you have 180 Crit DMG, aim for 90 Crit Rate.
Best Teams

Zibai premium team with Columbina, Illuga C6, and Linnea is set to be the current DPS ceiling in the game. Columbina and Linnea will be holding Aubade, while Linnea can switch to Husk if better stats. Illuga will be using Silken Moon.
| Zibai | Columbina | C6 Illuga | Linnea |
Other teams revolve around Columbina and Linnea, with either Furina or Illuga. Some teams can use C6 Gorou if they scale with DEF. The main DPS can be any Geo DPS, such as Navia, Itto, Noelle, etc.
| Zibai | Columbina | Gorou | Linnea |
| Navia | Columbina | Furina/Illuga | Linnea |
| Itto | Columbina | Furina/Gorou | Linnea |
| Noelle (MH) | Columbina | Furina | Linnea |
| Ningguang | Columbina | Furina/Illuga | Linnea |
| Albedo | Columbina | Furina/Illuga/Gorou | Linnea |
Ascension Materials
Although her talent level materials can be farmed in the game right now, the character level materials (boss drop and Local Specialty) will only be available with the new patch.
Character Level

The best way to prepare for this is to farm Mora and Exp books as much as you can, and save Fragile Resin to get up to 46 of the new boss drop, Plume of the Fallen Watcher.
As for the Local Specialty, Etherwing Moth, you can join other people’s worlds and respectfully ask them if you can take it. It’s also a nice way to make some friends.
Talent Level

If you thought you were done farming for the Nod Krai Fatui drops, think again. Linnea needs it for both her character and talent levels. Similar to Flins, she will need Teachings of Vagrancy.
The weekly boss material is Elixir of the Heretic, dropped by Dottore. Of course, if you plan on crowning her, you would need 1 crown per talent.
Should You Pull For Her?

Linnea is a great Lunar-Crystallise support, but her pull value is a bit weird. She is the best support for a team that is already considered the top meta without her. Having Linnea simply takes power creep to the next level.
However, endgame challenges like Stygian Onslaught, Spiral Abyss, and Imaginarium Theater are shifted to keep the newest characters relevant. So, Linnea will be at the top during her patch and be less important in the future.
With that said, you should always pull for characters that you love. If Linnea is one of those characters, you can get her first and then build a team around her.
Linnea will be the next character after Varka’s recent release. If you already pulled for the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, you might want to check out our complete Varka guide.
