The Team Initiation Challenge, also known as the “Do the… Team Initiation Challenge?” request, in Pokemon Pokopia is a questline that starts early in the Withered Wasteland region after Professor Tangrowth leads you to the mysterious sand-covered lighthouse on the beach.
Each of the eight challenges in this questline requires you to donate specific items from your inventory. Completing each one grants a unique badge and advances the story toward the game’s ending. Challenge 1: Basic Foraging
- Required Items: 5 Leppa Berries
- Reward: Bouldery Badge

- Approach trees in the Withered Wasteland and press A to headbutt them.
- Collect at least 5 Leppa Berries that drop from the trees.
- Return to the tower on the beach and interact with the box to submit your Leppa Berries.
Challenge 2: Early Farming
- Required Items: 10 Beans, 10 Tomatoes, 10 Wheat
- Reward: Cascade Badge

- Unlock basic farming in Withered Wasteland.
- Buy and plant seeds in tilled soil plots for beans, tomatoes, and wheat.
- Water your crops daily with Water Gun using Slowpoke or a similar Pokemon.
- Harvest your crops when they’re ready and submit to the tower.
Challenge 3: Wood and Soft Materials
- Required Items: 20 Lumber, 5 Fluff, 10 Paper
- Reward: Forest Badge

- Befriend Grass or Wood Pokemon and use chopping moves on trees to collect lumber.
- Shear Wooloo or similar fluffy Pokemon around homes to collect fluff.
- Collect wastepaper from ruins or recycled junk at abandoned structures.
Challenge 4: Building Materials
- Required Items: 40 Bricks, 20 Gold Ingots, 50 Concrete
- Reward: Rainbowish Badge

- Unlock mining and smelting after a new region of Rocky Ridges.
- Mine clay and stone, then process at kilns and workbenches, using Burn moves on solid clay to produce bricks.
- Mine gold ore in rocky mountains and smelt it at the forge.
- Mix processed stone and sand to produce cement at an advanced workbench.
Challenge 5: Tech and Energy Components
- Required Items: 50 Electricity, 10 Crystal Fragments, 5 Tinkagears
- Reward: Boulder Badge

- Befriend Electric Pokemon like Magnemite and use Thunder Shock and Discharge moves in generators and power spots.
- Build and upgrade generators in your habitats for passive power generation.
- Mine crystals in sparkling caves in regions like Sparkling Skylands and use Rock Pokemon to break crystal deposits.
- Craft Tinkagears at the Tinkmaster workbench, using iron ingots and Mechanic Pokemon.
Challenge 6: Advanced Furniture Crafting
- Required Items: 4 Industrial Beds, 4 Office Desks, 4 Resort Lights
- Reward: Comfort Badge

- Craft Industrial Beds at the advanced workbench by combining lumber, fluff, and metal frames.
- Office Desks will require wood, metal, and crafted parts.
- Resort Lights will need electronics, crystals, and glass.
Challenge 7: Household Appliances
- Required Items: 1 Washing Machine, 1 Refrigerator, 1 Game Boy System
- Reward: Tech Badge

- Craft both a washing machine and a refrigerator using metal ingots, electricity components, and pipes.
- Reach at least Environment Level 5 at Sparkling Skylands and receive a Game Boy System as a reward at the PC outside the local Pokemon Center.
Challenge 8: Final Celebration
- Required Items: 1 Photo, 2 Party Poppers
- Reward: Final Badge

- Use the in-game camera to snap a specific shot of your completed habitat with a group of befriended Pokemon.
- Craft Party Poppers from paper, fluff, and small explosives.
- If your Environment Level is high enough, this will trigger a story conclusion with the final cutscene.
