Slay the Spire 2 has a lot of new events that you can encounter in the ‘?’ floors. One of these includes stumbling across a Sapphire Seed. You are given two options. You can either eat the seed and heal some HP back and upgrade a card, or enchant a card with Sown.
This guide will explain the best cards to Enchant for each character in Slay the Spire 2.
Best Cards to Enchant for The Ironclad

Of course, the card you choose to enchant depends on the kind of build you go for. When enchanting a card with Sown, it will give you one extra energy when you play the card for the first time.
Because of this, it’s best to choose a 2 or 3-cost card so that you are getting the most out of the enchant. Some of the best cards include:
- Bash
- Uppercut
- Pyre
- Setup Strike
- Juggernaut
- Perfect Strike
As this is an Act 1 event, it is unlikely that you will have many Rare or Legendary cards at this point. This event can happen very early on, meaning you may not have even added any new cards to your deck. Because of this, Bash would be the most suitable option, as it is a 2-cost card that you start with.
Setup Strike is the cheapest card out of those options, and it’s recommended because you gain strength, meaning that any additional attacks you do after that will do more damage.
Pyre is one of the weaker options to choose, but in doing so, you refund one energy, allowing you to have a more beneficial turn than just playing a singular Power card. Then, in the next turns, you’ll have more energy thanks to playing Pyre.
Best Cards to Enchant for The Silent

The Silent has two main builds that you can play: Poison or Shivs. It’s entirely up to you what kind of build you go for, and there are more options, but these are the two most typical options to choose from. Here are some of the best cards to use Sown on:
- Fan of Knives
- Afterimage
- Blade Dance
- Knife Trap
- Dash
- Snakebite
- Pounce
- Pinpoint
- Bouncing Flask
- Fan of Knives
Compared to some other characters, it feels like The Silent has a lot of high-cost cards mixed in with the 0-cost cards. A lot of the cards listed above are 2-cost or 3-cost cards. Pounce is a really great card to enchant with Sown, especially if you are running a Skill-based build, as you will then get to use a Skill for free.
Dash is another great choice, especially as it’s a card you can typically get in the early game. Allows you to deal a good chunk of damage, get some block, and some energy back if you enchant it.
The other cards are very deck-dependent, with some of them being Rare or Legendary cards, so you might not have them by this point.
Best Cards to Enchant for The Regent

The Regent is one of the new characters added in Slay the Spire 2, and he can be tricky to get the hang of, especially as he has both Stars and Energy as resources to manage. There are a lot of builds that you can do for The Regent, with Sovereign Blade builds being one of the strongest that you can experiment with. Regardless of what build you go for, the Regent has some very expensive cards that you can come across. By enchanting it with sown, you at least give yourself the opportunity to use more than one card in a turn.
- Bulwark
- Seeking Edge
- Genesis
- The Smith
- Furnace
- Glitterstream
Enchanting a card like Bulwark allows you to get a good chunk of block, while giving you energy back to then spend it on an attack or another block card against some of the harder-hitting enemies.
Alternatively, you can use it on cards such as The Smith, which are only one-cost cards. Cards like these are beneficial if you’re going for a Sovereign Blade build, as you can quickly ramp up the damage of the blade using Forge cards.
Best Cards to Enchant for The Necrobinder

The Necrobinder has a few interesting builds that you can choose from. It really depends on the playstyle you want to go for, but most of them will revolve around Osty. Doom and Osty decks are the two predominant types of decks that you can build at the moment. Of course, you can happily build a hybrid deck if that is what suits you.
The best cards to enchant with Sown for The Necrobinder are the following:
- Deathbringer
- Delay
- Death’s Door
- End of Days
- Time’s Up
- Pull Aggro
- High Five
- Flatten
- Reanimate
All of those cards are at least two-cost, with some of them being three-cost. Using cards like this allows you to do more in a turn, rather than simply activating one Power or Skill. It can be especially beneficial if you are trying to grow Osty’s health bar, as it allows you to give them more health or Block in order to survive enemy attacks.
Best Cards to Enchant for The Defect

Compared to some of the other characters in Slay the Spire 2, it feels that the Defect has the most versatility. You can choose to do a Claw deck, which will require you to lose a lot of your starting cards and get some card draw in your deck for it to work. Alternatively, you can do a build that revolves around different orbs and evoking them. This could be Lightning, Dark, Frost, or even Glass.
With these builds, you also have the opportunity to incorporate powers. These cards are particularly good to enchant with Sown, as you can get powers for free with cards such as White Noise. There is also the option of using it on Creative AI, for example.
- Glacier
- Multi-Cast
- Voltaic
- Zap
- Tesla Coil
- Loop
- Cold Snap
- Creative AI
- White Noise
A lot of these cards are two-cost, with the potential for some of them to be made zero-cost, such as Zap. Multi-Cast is an X-cast card, which will use as much energy as you have left by the time you use it. For this reason, Multi-Cast is a great card to enchant with Sown, as it gives you an extra energy after you’ve used it in the event you want to use something else.
