The new Imaginarium Theater cycle of Genshin Impact version 6.4 has started and it’s looking… bad. The element choices are abysmal with little to no synergy, and you need to have some premium teams to get all rewards.

We have been at it since the event started and have prepared special tips and a comprehensive guide to help you defeat the challenge. This Imaginarium Theater guide will keep the Lunar Mode in mind, as it is the greatest possible difficulty.

As always, you can skip to the specific sections you need help with or keep on reading if you don’t mind the additional information.

Imaginarium Theater Details

The three element types available in the 6.4 Imaginarium Theater are Electro, Cryo, and Anemo. These just happen to be the least synergetic elements, meaning you will have to brute force a lot of the enemies.

The Opening Characters and Special Guest Stars lineup offers a bit of synergy, and we advise you to reserve the latter, especially for the Bosses and Arcana challenges.

Opening Characters

We have Varesa, Dori, Eula, Mika, Xianyun, and Sayu. Among these, Varesa, Eula, and Xianyun are the most useful. But since we are assuming them at the trial character level, you should use them in the early stages.

Special Guest Stars

We have Columbina, Furina, Durin, and Bennet. If you have these, they will be the most useful for you to create some synergy. In the worst-case scenario, you can invite the ones you lack from a friend’s supporting cast.

If you don’t have any friends with these characters built… we have all been there, you can join dedicated Discord servers and find people to help you.

First Boss – Jadeplume Terrorshroom

If you have a properly built Iansan, you can use her with Varesa and Xianyun, as they are both available in trial. The buffs from both Xianyun and Iansan should be more than enough to help you clear.

In this case, the fourth slot should be someone you don’t ever plan on using to meet the requirements. If you lack the damage still, use Sayu since she can trigger Viridescent Venerer.

Alternative Options

If you lack Iansan, you can make up the difference with a support like Fischl. The keyword here is Electro, as that’s the most effective against Jadeplume Terrorshroom. If all else fails, you can always try to brute-force it or lower your difficulty, since things are going to get worse from here.

Second Boss – Battle-Hardened Waveshuttler

The most annoying thing about this boss is how much it moves and the fact that the Freeze mechanic against this boss is locked behind an element that only two Special Guest Stars can trigger.

You should either use your first premium team with Freeze Furina or Lunar Columbina here. Freeze helps lock the enemy in one place and dish out as much damage as possible, whereas Lunar reactions are simply strong enough to brute-force it.

Alternative Options

Despite us having the premium teams for this boss, the RNG of character selection was not on our side. Still, we managed to brute-force it with Durin-Fischl Overload and Kaeya for extra melts.

Overload can interrupt the enemy’s movement, making it easy for you to hit as many of your attacks as possible. Moreover, Durin’s Burst and Fischl’s Oz can lock on to enemies, so you don’t have to worry as much.

Third Boss – Hexadecatonic Battle-Hardened Mandragora

Flins teams or Bineffa wheelchairs are simply perfect for this boss. If you have your Durin saved up until this point, you can use him with an Anemo character like Kazuha, Sucrose, or Venti for their grouping abilities.

Durin is the only Pyro you can use here, but you will have more options with Electro. Just make sure you have invited good supports for your main DPS to dish out the most damage.

Alternative Options

Chasca is surprisingly decent against this boss as her main sources of damage correspond with your support’s elements. This allows you to be more creative.

Chasca is also really helpful in this Imaginarium Theater as she is one of the most effective in the second Arcana challenge, which we will get to later.

Fourth Boss – Perpetual Mechanical Array

You should have one charge of either your best Lunar team with Columbina or Furina saved for this boss. Single-target main DPS will be the most effective.

Characters like Skirk will have the most synergy if you have Furina. Flins is also effective against this boss, but you will probably have used him already in either the first Arcana challenge or against the third boss.

Alternative Options

Since this is the last boss you will face, you should save up your most effective single-target team for this boss. There are no elemental type restrictions, so you should be good.

If you can’t beat this boss yet but plan on getting Skirk, you can wait until her upcoming banner and try the theater once you have her.

First Arcana Challenge

You need a consistent team here with proper rotations to get into the rhythm of beating enemies as soon as they spawn. Allowing them to move will reduce your AOE potential.

We used our Flins team for the first time here. Do note that Flins was level 70 at this point with level 1 talents. Weapon and artifacts were max. It goes to show that Ineffa with Columbina is more than enough for this phase.

Alternative Options

As long as you have shields for interruption resistance, you can brute-force it with any team that works for you. Among the available elements, characters like Lan Yan, Beidou, Kaeya C4, Diona, Citlali, and Ineffa have the most effective shields.

Second Arcana Challenge

Chasca and Varesa will be the most effective due to their big damage and Nightsoul attacks. The enemies require either Nightsoul or high-frequency elemental attacks to take out their shields, and not many characters can do that.

If you don’t have Chasca, she is one of the best characters you can invite from your friends’ Supporting Casts. Other Nightsoul-aligned characters that work well include Ororon, Citlali, Ifa, and Iansan.

Alternative Options

You can use certain Anemo characters for swirl infusion to take care of the elemental hits. And for the big damage part, anyone who is well-built in your arsenal should be fine.

Anemo characters can use Viridiscent Venerer to help your main DPS as well, and other slots can be used to trigger favorable reactions.

Ending Credits

Due to elemental restrictions of this Imaginarium Theater, you should expect rewinding your performance to get a better character invite RNG.

There were times when we didn’t have the proper teams invited, yet we could go with the alternative, so long as the damage output was sufficient.

Here are other tips you should follow:

  • Always keep someone with good grouping abilities in your arsenal, as they can help you basically skip certain acts. For example, defending the structure or weak enemies in large numbers.
  • Use the weakest possible team in non-boss acts that help you clear with the Stella reward, and reserve your strongest for more difficult enemies.
  • Certain acts have gimmick enemies, like Act 7 has Frostnight Scions. Keep an Electro or Cryo as a support to take out the shield before you start dealing damage.
  • Invite characters whenever there is an option to maximize what little team synergy we have.
  • Trial Eula is strong enough to easily complete Act 1 with Dori for Superconduct, and can barely finish Act 2 if the enemy doesn’t move around too much. Use her as she is useless in other stages.
  • We were unable to check Varka since we do not have the character, and his damage output is not the best in suboptimal teams.
