The First Wave Raider Caches, also known as the Hurricane Caches, appear in ARC Raiders during the Hurricane map condition, which was introduced in the Shrouded Sky update. These secret caches are upgraded versions of regular Raider Caches that only spawn during the Hurricane events.
They share the exact same spawn locations as standard Raider Caches but offer much higher loot quality, including ultra-rare purple blueprints like Tempest, Bobcat, and Volcano, as well as Level 4 weapons; premium heals, such as Vita Shots, Defibs, Sterilized Bandages; mods, such as Magnetic Accelerators, Exodus Modules; and 150,000 coins per run.
How to Find Hurricane Secret Caches
The Hurricane event takes place only on the outdoor maps, such as Dam Battlegrounds, Blue Gate, Buried City, and the Space Port. Once the event begins, you’ll hear a distinct security beeping, which can be hard to hear over the wind, but you’ll start recognizing it with more runs.
These secret caches look larger than regular caches, and they also have a faint glow. However, the drop rates are not 100%, but only about 60% of caches drop at least one blueprint, with Tempest being the most common. So expect to obtain somewhere between one and seven blueprints per run.
Dam Battlegrounds Hurricane Cache Locations
There are over 70 possible secret cache locations in the Dam Battlegrounds, primarily at:
- West Broken Ridge
- Power Generation Complex
- The Dam
- Red Lakes
- Water Treatment
- Electrical Substation
- Old Battleground
- Pale Apartments
The Spaceport Hurricane Cache Locations
The periphery of the Spaceport has a little over 60 possible locations:
- East Plains
- Electrical Substation
- La Chiesa
- Fuel Processing
- Water Towers
- Alberi Hills
Buried City Hurricane Cache Locations
The least amount of secret caches can be found in the Buried City with only around 30 such locations:
- The Outskirts
- Hospital
- Buried Properties
- Church Ruins
- Abandoned Highway Camp
- Grandioso Apartments
- Warehouse
Blue Gate Hurricane Cache Locations
The most profitable area in terms of secret cache spawns is definitely the Blue Gate with about 100 such crates:
- Village
- Reinforced Reception
- Abandoned Housing Project
- Ridgeline
- Farmlands
- Highway Collapse
- Andorned Wreckage
- The Forest
How to Survive Hurricane Events
The Hurricane events run hourly on a fixed, repeating 24-hour cycle across all four outdoor maps. Each one lasts for an hour before rotating to the next map. You must be well prepared for this event and bring along the following items:
- Adrenaline Shots will help you survive the stamina drains that get massive when running into the strong wind.
- Hatch Keys will allow you to extract through the hatches for safe exfil.
- Light Loadout that prioritizes mobility, especially if you want to quickly loot blueprints and leave.
It’s also recommended to invest some points into the One Raider’s Scraps tree to increase the chance of getting extra field-crafted items from Raider Caches. But that’s not essential if you have plans to invest in something else.
