How Many Episodes Are There?
The eighth season includes 8 episodes and will premiere on Netflix on February 27, 2026. The episodes center around a particular plot, group, or incident of the 2025 season.
Where Can You Watch It?
The 8th season of Drive to Survive is available only on Netflix. It is not found in any other streaming service. To watch it, you must have an active Netflix subscription. Netflix does not offer a free trial at this time; anyone who is not a subscriber must subscribe before February 27.
What Is Season 8 Actually About?
This is what is interesting. The 2025 season was truly lawless.
The first episode, named New Kids on the Track, is devoted to the new generation of young drivers who joined Formula 1 in 2025. Kimi Antonelli moved to Mercedes, Gabriel Bortoleto to Sauber, Isack Hadjar to Racing Bulls, and Jack Doohan to Alpine.
Some of them had virtually no full-season experience in that, and the cameras were always present.
On only six race weekends, Doohan was replaced by Franco Colapinto when Alpine dropped him. Liam Lawson had meanwhile been returned to Racing Bulls after just two race weekends, and Yuki Tsunoda had been promoted to Red Bull. Season 8 does not delay getting into the drama, so yes.
The giant plot, however, is the championship. McLaren had the superior car throughout the season but was unwilling to give either Lando Norris or Piastri an edge, which gave Verstappen a chance to compete in a weaker car. It became one of the most uncertain title races of the year.
Among the most dramatic was the Las Vegas Grand Prix, when both Norris and Piastri were disqualified, giving Verstappen 25 points over both and placing him back into the championship fight.
The last episode is titled Call Me Chucky, named after Verstappen’s remark to McLaren boss Zak Brown during the title race. It includes the dramatic final of the champion and the events that marked the 2025 season.
