Genshin Impact anime trailer has just been released by Ufotable, but is it a trailer? At best, it is a few-second teaser and, quite frankly, less than what we already knew.
Yesterday, Ufotable released a promo reel showcasing its upcoming projects for 2026 and beyond. These included The Wish on the Holy Night, the long-awaited Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle part 2, and the anime adaptation of the critically acclaimed Genshin Impact.
It’s Brief, Even More Than Other Teasers
The “teaser” is shorter than other projects, and is labelled under “Future Projects”, which could mean anything from 2026 to 2030. One thing we do know about Ufotable is that it always delivers with quality, and its other projects are big.
So if a busy studio like that marks it as one of the future projects, we can’t help but assume it could be a few years down the line.
Genshin Impact’s Anime Trailer Will Be Grand
miHoYo does not lack when it comes to marketing. We have seen simple character trailers being revealed at major annual gaming events, and this is the project that they have been working on for a while. Even the concept trailer released 3 years ago had extensive marketing.
So, when the release window is near, miHoYo is sure to do a lot more than just release a Genshin Impact anime trailer. We might even see in-game events tied to information about the anime, as HoYo has done with other things in web events.
When Should We Expect The Anime?
With Luna V on the horizon, it is possible that in one of its future update livestreams, there will be a segment dedicated to just this. Another date to keep an eye on is April 3, when some information about another of Ufotable’s projects will be revealed.
Even though it is very unlikely to be important to Genshin fans, it still shows that Ufotable isn’t done showcasing its projects.
What To Expect From The Plot?
There are still many unknowns surrounding the plot, and which nations we might see here. The concept trailer featured Anemo Crystalflies and the Statue of Venti, the Anemo Archon of Mondstadt. It is also the first nation we were introduced to, so it makes sense.
However, it would be nice to see more than just Mondstadt, and possibly some unique plotline instead of a recap of game events. There is a ton of potential, and it is bound to be good coming from the same anime studio that gave us Fate and Demon Slayer.
Fun Fact: The author of this article got a C6 Illuga and C0 Zibai without losing 50/50.
