Shadow Briefings are interactive terminals scattered across the Fortnite’s Battle Royale island, some of which are still active, although many have already been vaulted, including the special event ones. They appear as tall job boards marked by a small white laptop icon on your minimap when you’re nearby one of them.

These terminals offer timed challenges, which usually don’t take more than five minutes, from the Shadow faction, rewarding you with gold bars, loot, and XP upon completion. You can only accept one at a time, and this guide will provide you with tips and tricks on how to complete them.

Plunder Challenge

The Plunder challenge spawns two buried rare chests in marked areas on your map. You must find, dig them up, and search both within five minutes to complete it. The rewards usually include all the loot from the two rare chests, such as weapons, items, and materials, plus 200-250 gold bars.

Note that Shadow Briefing terminals don’t always spawn Plunder, but around 70% of them tend to spawn in the southern part of the map. Not every match has one at every spot, so be sure to drive and scan around from a vehicle. Here are some spots that you should consider:

  • Vineyards south of Lethal Labs;
  • Cosmic Durr Restaurant;
  • Ripped Tides;
  • Bumpy Bay;
  • Magic Mosses Docks;
  • Whiffy Wharf Roads;
  • All Gas Stations.

Once you accept the Plunder challenge at one of the terminals, the five-minute timer starts immediately, so be ready. You’ll see two golden, circular areas appear on your minimap. Then, follow these steps to complete the Plunder challenge:

  1. Search for a pickaxe and use your transport to get to the first marker quickly.
  2. When you enter the circle, look for glittering dirt piles on the ground around roads or buildings.
  3. Use a pickaxe a few times on the pile until you find your first chest.
  4. Once you’ve completed the first one, repeat the same process at the second marker to finish the challenge.

Supply Drop Challenge

The Supply Drop briefing calls in a high-value supply drop crate at a marked location on your minimap. You must locate and search for the crate within five minutes to complete it. The rewards typically include valuable loot, such as epic or mythic weapons, shields, materials, and around 100-250 gold bars.

Note that this is the fastest briefing type of all, taking around 30-60 seconds to complete if uncontested. But there’s always a risk of other players hearing the rift and seeing the map marker. In that case, you have to be faster than your competitors.

As soon as you accept the challenge at the terminal, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Keep an eye out for the supply drop icon on your map.
  2. Once you’re done picking up weapons and shields from the area, you have to drive to the marked location on your map, as it could be anywhere from 200m to 800m.
  3. After you start the challenge, the rift will open in 20 to 30 seconds.
  4. You can watch the drop from the sky or follow the parachute in your map.
  5. Your aim is to be at the drop when it is just about to land.
  6. As soon as you loot the chest, the challenge is over.

Armory Challenge

The Armory challenge is a PvP-focused briefing, which provides you with an uncommon weapon, such as a shotgun, an SMG, or an assault rifle, and requires you to deal a specific amount of damage to enemy players under various conditions within five minutes.

Note that Armory terminals offer many choices, but once you pick it and accept the challenge, the game removes it from that terminal, although you can return later for others. Here’s what’s usually being offered:

  • Close-Range Challenge: Deal 100 Damage to enemies within 15m.
  • Long-Range Challenge: Deal 100-150 Damage to enemies within 30m.
  • ADS Challenge: Deal 100-150 Damage to enemies with aimed down sights.
  • Hip-Fire Challenge: Deal 100 Damage to enemies without aiming.

Here, it’s very important to pick the right weapon for each challenge. Consider the following options:

  • Close-Range: Shotgun or SMG.
  • Long-Range: Assault Rifle.
  • ADS: Pistol or Assault Rifle.
  • Hip-Fire: Shotgun.

Lastly, if you’re having trouble spotting this type of briefing, then take a look at the following areas:

  • Resistance Base;
  • O.X.R HQ;
  • Castle Doom;
  • Doomstadt;
  • Seaport City;
  • Masked Meadows.
