Daredevil is a very popular IP for Marvel, largely in part due to the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, which was a massive hit as a revival of the classic Netflix series. We can only expect the second season to be even better, because this time it would all be written by the same people, something you could not say about season one.
Set to premiere on March 24th, this will technically be the fifth season telling Daredevil’s story. Throughout that story, he has collected a large and lovable (or not so) cast of characters – one that I will be delving into here.
Daredevil (Matthew Murdock)

The titular character, Daredevil, AKA Matthew Murdock, has quite obviously been involved in it all from the very beginning. Charlie Cox started with what may be considered his true breakout role, with the original Netflix Daredevil series.
He was the main character of all three of the original Netflix seasons, as well as being a main character in the Defenders series. There were three years between his last appearance as Daredevil and his return as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He may not have had a large part, but fans went absolutely wild when they learned he’s officially in the MCU now.
He’s since appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in a more comedic role, then went back to the usual serious tone with Echo. He even made an animated appearance on Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. All up until Daredevil: Born Again finally aired and got such a positive reception, it was renewed up to season three, just months later.
Kingpin (Wilson Fisk)

Vincent D’Onofrio plays the iconic character known as Kingpin, or Wilson Fisk. This character was first introduced in the original Netflix series, much like a lot of them. He’s been a magnificent antagonist for Matt Murdock to face, and he will continue to be so in the next season of Daredevil: Born Again.
He was a mainstay in the Netflix series, and like Charlie Cox, he returned three years later and was introduced into the MCU. He played a small but impactful role in the final episodes of the Hawkeye show. He was also a rather important character in Echo.
Now back in Daredevil: Born Again, he is getting the treatment he deserves as a powerful villain. He’s holding the political reins of New York City, and this is the most terrifying he has been yet.
Jessica Jones

Fans screamed when they found out Krysten Ritter was returning as Jessica Jones, a fan favourite from the Netflix era. Like all of the others so far, she was introduced via Netflix, but not through the Daredevil series. Instead, she had her own popular series that lasted three seasons.
You’ve most likely seen her in the Jessica Jones Netflix series, and if you haven’t, then you need to. She was also a main character in The Defenders, right alongside Daredevil.
This will be her first time back as Jessica Jones since 2019, as well as her official introduction into the MCU.
Karen Page

Karen Page is a mainstay character from the original Netflix series, having been in every single episode. While she wasn’t very present in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, she is set to go back to main character status in the second one.
She was also in The Defenders series as a supporting character, but she also expanded beyond that. She played a good part in The Punisher series, the only character on this list who appeared there. (Other than The Punisher himself)
Daredevil: Born Again was her introduction into the MCU, and so season two will be her second appearance in this massive franchise.
Bullseye (Benjamin ‘Dex’ Poindexter)

A fan favourite character (or at least mine), Wilson Bethel, plays Dex perfectly. He was introduced in season three of the original Daredevil show, and as such, he did not get as much screen time as most other characters from said show.
He may not have appeared in any Marvel projects other than Daredevil and Born Again, but his character in the comics promises he will appear much more.
He was only in three episodes of the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, but according to IMDb, he is going to be in every single episode of the next season.
Heather Glenn

Margarita Levieva plays Heather Glenn, a new addition to the Daredevil story. She has no prior Marvel experience, not even in the Netflix shows.
She was in almost every episode of Daredevil: Born Again season one, and she is now set to be in every episode of the next season. It’s unknown if she will end up in season three, but the chances seem likely.
BB Urich

BB Urich is yet another Daredevil: Born Again original character, played by Genneya Walton. She plays the niece of Ben Urich, who was a notable character in the original series.
She was in eight episodes of the first season, and according to IMDb, she will be in all episodes of this upcoming season.
Kirsten McDuffie

The third of many characters introduced in Daredevil: Born Again is Kirsten McDuffie, played by Tony Award-winning actress Nikki M. James.
She plays the partner of Matt Murdock in their law firm, and has a solid role in the show as well. While she may not be in as many episodes as the others, she is still a great addition to the cast. Even if it is highly unlikely, she will appear in anything other than this show.
Buck Cashman

Buck Cashman is played wonderfully by Arty Froushan, and he is a great antagonist alongside Kingpin. In the comics, he is also known as ‘Bullet’, a mercenary who has worked with Kingpin before, so we may be seeing some more villainous acts this season.
Like the others, Buck was introduced in Daredevil: Born Again and is unlikely to be in other Marvel media, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy him in what we have.
Daniel Blake

Daniel is a new character, played by Michael Gandolfini, as a young man being placed into the political minefield of working for Kingpin. So far, he has been the source of some humour and lightness in the more dark and serious atmosphere of Daredevil: Born Again.
He has been in no other Marvel project, but he’s been memorable in Daredevil: Born Again so far. I, and many others, look forward to seeing where his character goes.
Vanessa Fisk

Ayelet Zurer has been playing Vanessa Fisk (Previously Marianna) since the original Netflix show, and she’s been doing it beautifully. A villainous yet elegant influence in Wilson Fisk’s life, she has been the mastermind of many disturbing things.
Vanessa has not been in any other Marvel projects other than Daredevil and Born Again, but keeping her just in these projects actually amplifies her performance and Ayelet’s skill as an actress.
Mr Charles

This will be Matthew Lillard’s introduction to the MCU, and with such an iconic actor, it’s basically guaranteed that this character will blow our minds. We don’t know much about this ‘Mr. Charles’ and the mystery is heightening the already massive anticipation around this season.
The Punisher (Frank Castle)

It’s actually unknown if Frank Castle will have a large role in Daredevil: Born Again season two. According to IMDb, Jon Bernthal will be appearing in the first episode, but Marvel may be keeping it a secret if he is in any more.
The Punisher is a very popular character, having been introduced in the original Daredevil series and then becoming popular enough to get his own solo series. The Punisher show on Netflix ran for two seasons with high ratings and a large number of fans.
He appeared in two episodes of season one of Born Again, and it is confirmed that he is going to be in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie. Not to forget that he’s also getting his own special presentation from Marvel.
HM: Foggy Nelson

As an honourable mention, I’ve included Foggy Nelson, who we see in the teasers and trailers for season two. Elden Henson has been playing this character since 2015 and quickly became a massive fan favourite.
It was extremely shocking when, in season one of Born Again, we witnessed his death, especially considering how many Marvel projects he’s appeared in, even if it was only for a short time.
Foggy has been in the original Daredevil series, as well as The Defenders, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. He has a good history with Marvel, and as such, it is not shocking that Elden will keep appearing in flashbacks.
