New magical co-op game, YapYap, is all about chaos and causing as much destruction as possible. Play with your teammates to invade your rivals’ castles and basically, break, burn, or pee on anything and everything you can.

Being a menace isn’t the tough part of YapYap, and although you have to navigate the winding staircases and mystic puzzles, all while being chased by monsters, you have your friends and magic on your side.

What can be the hardest part, especially when you’re new to the game, is figuring out where and how you “extract” yourself from the map and back to your home base. If you don’t do it within the allotted time frame, you all get a visit from the Time Ghost, and your playthrough is over.

How To Extract

In YapYap, extracting means getting you and your teammates to the designated area before time runs out, so you can teleport back to your own base. This sounds relatively easy; however, without a map and with a forever-changing layout, finding the right place can be trickier than you think.

When you spawn into the castle, you’ll start exploring the area. You’ll go through numerous doors, fall from ceilings, and even sneak your way past enemies on balconies. Whichever way you go, you’ll eventually end up outside, and when you do, you need to take in your surroundings.

When outside, take a look around, and hopefully you’ll see a sparkly purple tower in the distance. This is the Extraction Tower. If you don’t see it when going outside, don’t worry, you’ll end up outside again, and eventually you’ll see the tower.

When you do see it, take note of the direction and, when you’re back inside, try your best to head that way. Cause as much chaos as you can while on your way through the castle, but the most important thing is to keep track of the towerer whenever you’re outside.

Once you reach the tower, head inside and follow the spiral staircase up. Once upstairs, you can either watch other teammates you haven’t met up with yet or interact with the orb to teleport you home.

Extraction Warp Crystal

When exploring the castle map, you’ll come across Warp Crystals (usually on balconies) that can teleport you to different areas of the castle. If they’re the regular kind, they will have directions on them – North, South, East, or West.

If you’re really lucky, you might encounter the Extraction Warp Crystal. While it looks the same as the others, it takes you straight to the Extraction Tower. Saving you a lot of time and potentially your little wizard life.
