During the State of Play presentation on February 12, players got to see more of what to expect from Star Wars Galactic Racer in a brand-new gameplay trailer.
The trailer showed off some intense-looking visuals, brilliant graphics and even a familiar face in Ben Quadinaros. While the trailer might not have shown off too much of the game from a technical standpoint, it’s exciting to get some new clips to see a bit of what to expect.
Star Wars Galactic Racer Gameplay Reveal

There will be many different maps to race on, each featuring multiple terrains. Ranging from sandy junkyards to acidic-looking pools in a rocky wasteland, there looks to be an ever-changing backdrop for racing your way through the galaxy.
The vehicles also look diverse, from podracers to landspeeders. These presumably all have different attributes, from their speed to their handling. Some vehicles look a bit crude, while others look like they might cost a handsome sum of credits.
It’s unclear what the story of the game is going to look like, but from what can be inferred, you’ll be taking control of an anonymous new racer to the Galactic League. Presumably, the story will consist of you working your way up through the ranks from a nobody all the way to being the champion.

It’s also not entirely clear as to when in the timeline this will take place. It would make sense to be in the post-imperial era, where the New Republic isn’t quite able to keep up with all the illegal racing organizations in the galaxy, but it could theoretically fit anywhere in the timeline.
There may be some intense rivalries along the way, with one character threatening to freeze the player character in carbonite for some alleged “impeding.” What that may look like in the rest of the story will have to wait until the game comes out, sometime in 2026.
