If you thought that Ghost of Yotei was finished, think again. During PlayStation’s State of Play presentation on February 12, it was announced that Ghost of Yotei will launch a new expansion on March 10, adding multiplayer modes.

What is Ghost of Yotei Legends?

The gameplay looks to consist of a four-player online co-op experience, where you and up to three friends can work together to take on demonic versions of the Yotei Six. Well, four of them, that is, given that there are only demon forms of The Spider, The Kitsune, The Oni and The Snake.

Luckily, you shouldn’t need to play with four people in any given game, since the trailer says “up to four players.” That way, if you struggle to coordinate with friends on a good time to play, you don’t have to fill your party with random players online. There will be multiple gameplay modes, though the specifics have not been revealed yet.

Just how much this update will bring to the table remains to be seen, but the combat looks to have a new, demonic sort of spin on it. There may also be some new outfits to wear that are custom to the update, so it will be interesting to see if any of them bridge back into the single-player campaign.

Just how the combat will function with four players hacking and slashing their way through enemies remains to be seen, but it should be as dynamic as it was in the campaign. Interestingly, there was no PvP announced for Ghost of Yotei, which is a departure from its predecessor.

Luckily, you won’t have to wait long for the multiplayer experience. Patch 1.5 for Ghost of Yotei will be releasing on March 10.
