Just a few months prior to its May 27th, 2026 release date, IO Interactive keep teasing us with more and more 007: First Light content.

With a couple of minutes mixing gameplay and cutscenes, the State of Play trailer gave us a bit more to chew on regarding the story and what the game actually is about.

A Rookie Bond

As previously confirmed, 007: First Light is giving us a look at a rookie version of James Bond. He is reckless, young, and still relatively new to the job.

Yet he seems to have a special something that the other agents simply don’t.

We’re excited to see what IO Interactive do with a massive franchise that isn’t Hitman, and we’re remaining cautiously optimistic given how much of a lead this seems to be from the stealth masterpieces.

From all the footage we’ve seen, including the gameplay shown during this trailer, 007: First Light is much more Uncharted than it is Hitman. A young, charimastic Bond is weirdly reminiscent of Nathan Drake in the three first Uncharted titles.

Expect a ton of explosive set pieces with incredible fidelity, and hopefully much less cover-shooting than in the Naughty Dog videogames.

Stealth is sure to play a minor part in 007: First Light, but Bond will be a cacophonous counterpart to the comparatively mute Agent 47.

007: First Light is coming to PS5, Xbox, and PC on May 27th, 2026, and is already available to pre-purchase for 69,99€.

Do you think IOI will be able to stick the landing with this extremely hyped release? We sure hope so.
