In Heartopia, the Aurora Borealis is a weather event that can occur from time to time. If you’re wondering what this event is, what is included when it is active in-game, and how you can tell when an Aurora Borealis is going to happen, all relevant information has been outlined in the guide below.
Aurora Borealis Event in Heartopia, Explained

The very first Aurora Borealis event for Heartopia was first announced by the dev team on their socials. Their post included a video previewing the new changes and stated the following:
“The chance to meet the aurora is a cosmic romance.
It’s the starry sky dancing, and the softest whisper of nature.
At 18:00 on February 1st (Server Time), may this splendor light up your night.”
Take a look at the official post below:
During this time, an aurora borealis will be available to view in the sky after logging into Heartopia. This makes a perfect opportunity to hang out with your friends in-game and take some nice photos with it in the background.
Players can tell when an Aurora Borealis weather event is active in Heartopia by checking the weather system on their watch. During an Aurora Borealis, a graphic will pop up on top of the weather chart, labelled ‘Aurora’.
Unfortunately, unlike some other weather events, which offer unique NPC shops and locations, or bonus items that can be discovered and collected, the Aurora Borealis weather event appears to be a cosmetic-only event. This means that there are no objectives to complete; it is simply a visual addition for players to enjoy as they go about playing the game.
However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of other things players can do to keep themselves occupied while the gorgeous aurora borealis is active. The Winter Frost Season Prep event is currently ongoing, offering daily objectives to complete. Other than that, the new Ice Skating activity is live, and there’s a bunch of fun little discoveries to be made around the city during the winter season.
