First it was Steve, and now Dustin, you can finally play your favorite friendship duo in Dead by Daylight and help them fight in The Fog.
Dustin came into the crossover chapter with fellow teenager Eleven and, like her, has his own three unique perks to face the killers. Below are the best perk builds to keep Dustin off the hook.
Bada Bada Boom

While this first perk isn’t the strongest, you could really lean into the ‘Home Alone’ of it and pair it with multiple traps. Keep the killer distracted or concentrated on you while the rest of your team finishes those gens.
| Perk | Survivor | Description | Notes |
| Bada Bada Boom | Dustin Henderson | After completing 20% worth of a Generator, this perk activates. While active, press the ability button next to a window to install a Trap, which stays active for up to 40/50/60 seconds. The Trap triggers when the Killer vaults through the window, causing the Killer to suffer a Hindered status effect for 6 seconds. | A good way to slow a killer down, combine this perk with some good looping, and you’ll be far away before the killer recovers. |
| Wiretap | Ada Wong | After repairing a Generator by 40%, Wiretap activates. Press the active ability button while near a partially progressed Generator to install a Trap. Whenever the Killer comes within 14 metres of the Trapped Generator, their aura is revealed to all Survivors. | Not a typical trap, this perk helps you keep an eye on the killer even if you’re halfway across the map. Helpful for the whole team. |
| Blast Mine | Jill Valentine | After repairing a Generator for 40%, Blast Mine activates: Press the ability button while near a partially progressed Generator to install a Trap, which stays active for 100/110/120 seconds. When the Killer damages the Trapped Generator, its Trap explodes halfway through, stunning the Killer for 4 seconds and blinding all players within 12.5 metres. | Pair Blast Mine with the other perks and give yourself some extra time to get away from the gen and to your trapped window. Time it right, and the killer might not even see you, and if they do, you have an escape route. |
| Chemical Trap | Ellen Ripley | Press the ability button while near a dropped Pallet to install a Trap, which stays active for 40/50/60 seconds. When the Killer breaks the Trapped Pallet, it explodes, spraying the Killer with a chemical compound and causing them to suffer a Hindered status effect for 4 seconds. | Especially helpful to use somewhere like Killer Shack, you can force the killer to be hindered by a pallet or a window. It’s their choice, but your shot at escape. |
Change of Plan

Life in Hawkins and The Fog doesn’t always go to plan, and this perk covers the most important areas of your safety – generators and health. Use the following perks to make the most out of your old and new items.
| Perk | Survivor | Description | Notes |
| Change of Plan | Dustin Henderson | You start the Trial with 2 Tokens. While hiding inside a Locker and holding a non-event Toolbox, press the ability button to spend 1 Token and transform your Toolbox into a Med-Kit of the same rarity with a random add-on of the same rarity. | An extremely helpful perk for those who want to cover all bases when it comes to gens and healing. |
| Bite the Bullet | Leon Kennedy | When healing yourself or another Survivor, you benefit from the following effects: Suppresses all noises related to Healing and Grunts of Pain. Failed Healing Skill Checks do not trigger a Loud Noise Notification. | Use your new med-kit for others or yourself and be stealthy while doing so. |
| Scavenger | Gabriel Soma | While holding a depleted Toolbox, Scavenger activates and succeeding at Great Repairing Skill Checks grants 1 token, up to a maximum of 5 Tokens. Reaching the maximum number of Tokens automatically consumes them and fully recharges the Toolbox. Scavenger grants the ability to rummage through an opened Chest once per Trial and will guarantee a basic Toolbox. | You get 2 tokens with Change of Plan, but you can’t guarantee you’ll find another toolbox on the map. You can change a teammate’s item or find another one using Scavenger. |
| Built to Last | Felix Richter | Hiding inside a Locker for 14/13/12 seconds while carrying a depleted item has the following effect: First use: Recharges the Item to 99%. Second use: Recharges the Item to 66%. Third use: Recharges the Item to 33%. | Get the most from your toolbox or new med-kit by using this perk. While the amount of replenishment does deplete, you’re guaranteed to get a lot of bang for your buck. |
Teamwork: Full Circuit

Dustin is used to working in a team, and it shows from this perk. This build utilizes the necessity of being with other survivors and makes the most out of the increased skill check size.
| Perk | Survivor | Description | Notes |
| Teamwork: Full Circuit | Dustin Henderson | For each Survivor repairing a generator with you, the size of the good Skill Check zone is increased by 15/20/25%. While repairing with at least 1 other Survivor, you repair 5% faster. | A great “gen-rush” perk (if there is such a thing), but does require constantly being with another survivor. |
| Prove Thyself | Dwight Fairfield | Increases the Repair speed by a stack-able 6/8/10% per other Survivor within 4 metres of your location. Prove Thyself extends its effect to all Survivors within its range. | Build on your need to work on a Generator with others, and add the ultimate joint-gen perk. Makes completing your objectives even quicker. |
| Stake Out | David Tapp | Every 15 seconds you are within the Killer’s Terror Radius (while not being chased), Stake Out gains 1 Token. When Stake Out has at least 1 Token, Good Skill Checks consume 1 Token and are considered Great Skill Checks, granting an additional Progression bonus of +1%. | Make the most out of your increased skill check size by turning them easily into great ones. This alone speeds up gen progression, and on top of the bonus, you’ll be super speedy. |
| Fogwise | Vittorio Toscano | Succeeding a Great Skill Check while repairing a Generator reveals the aura of the Killer to you for 4/5/6 seconds. | This perk creates an added bonus to securing those great skill checks. With Stake Out, you should always be able to keep an eye on the killer. |
