The A Prime Specimen quest is one of the new mission additions in the ARC Raiders Headwinds update. This quest is not that hard, but it does require a bit of good timing management to solve the puzzle. Here is the complete guide to completing the A Prime Specimen quest in ARC Raiders.
A Prime Specimen Quest Guide
First things first, you need to get this quest from Shani, one of the traders in the game. Once you’ve got it, you’ll need to head to Blue Gate. You’ll be dealing with some ARCs along the way, so bring decent weapons and healing items.
Also, bring at least two Arc Power Cells before you head out. You’ll need these to complete the puzzle inside the Deforester. You can also get Arc Power Cells by destroying flying ARC enemies and loot their remains.
Arc Deforester Locations
There are three Arc Deforesters on Blue Gate. They’re pretty hard to miss once you know what you’re looking for. They’re massive, tipped-over ARC machines that look almost like giant cylinders. You can walk right inside them.
Here’s where you can find them:
- Two in Adorned Wreckage
- Southwest of Ridgeline
Most players choose to go to Adorned Wreckage, so you can try the other spots to avoid danger. If other players have already used the panel, you won’t be able to interact with it again, so you may need to check the other available spots instead.
When you get there, look for flying ARCs, take them down, and loot them to get your Arc Power Cells, if you don’t have them yet.
Solving the Deforester Puzzle
Once you’re inside the Deforester, look for a sparking electrical panel on your left. Pop in one Arc Power Cell to get things started. Flames will start shooting out on your right side. Wait for them to stop, then quickly run past them.
Then, you’ll see another panel, use your second Arc Power Cell here. The flames will now rotate in a circle, so time your movement carefully and run back through the gap. As I have mentioned earlier, you just need to have good timing management to get past the flames.
Next, climb the broken platform just outside the panel to reach the higher platform. Walk to the far end of the Deforester and interact with the container at the back. Search the container to complete the quest.

After you finish everything, head back to Shani to claim your rewards:
- Patrol Car Key
- Door Blocker x3
The quest itself is not that complicated once you know what to do. Just watch out for those flames and keep some extra Power Cells handy in case things go wrong. Good luck out there!
