There are 10 different weapons to choose from in Highguard, giving players an array of tools to use against enemy Wardens and base destruction. Whether it’s an SMG, LMG, shotgun, or rifle, certain weapons are just better to use in the current meta.
The meta will change as updates roll out and new weapons join the group. Also, just because we rank your favorite weapon low doesn’t mean it’s a terrible choice for you. We’ll be ranking all the weapons in Highguard in a tier list to help you decide which weapons you should be looting and buying.
All weapons in Highguard, ranked
- S Rank: Vanguard, Big Rig
- A Rank: Paladin, Viper, Ranger
- B Rank: Kraken, Dynasty, Corsair
- C Rank: Saber Rifle, Longhorn
S Rank weapons
Weapons that are S Rank trump all others in terms of versatility, strength, and accuracy. These are the best weapons you can use in the current meta, and you’d best start using them if you want to win fights.
Vanguard

The Vanguard is the best assault rifle by far in the current meta for its accuracy and power. Whether you’re in close or ranged combat, the Vanguard keeps its versatility and gives you two great scope options. If you want a fast and brutal gun, the Vanguard is currently the best option.
Big Rig

There’s a reason you can only pick up the Big Rig in air drops. Make sure to grab those supply drops when they arrive on the map, because Big Rig will shred through enemies like butter. Despite its slow fire rate, it’s a heavy LMG that will leave the enemy team wishing they got to that air drop faster.
A Rank weapons
A Rank weapons are great choices and only have a few downsides. They may not be number one, but they are well-rounded enough to be worth using in combat.
Paladin

The Paladin is the best shotgun so far. It’s punchy and has a rapid-fire rate as an automatic shotgun. The Paladin is a perfect second option to pull out when you run out of ammo in your other weapon. It almost doesn’t feel like a shotgun with how fast it chews through enemies and breakable walls.
Viper

The Viper is a well-designed SMG that can tear through enemies in close range. It would be in S Rank if it had a smoother recoil, so it’s not easy to control in long-ranged combat. Still, the Viper is a decent choice of weapon for the beginning of your Highguard games before better weapons start showing up.
Ranger

As a sniper rifle, the Ranger performs beautifully when used in ranged combat. It deals massive damage, no matter if it’s to the head or body, so you don’t have to have perfect aim to master it. Its downfall is its small magazine, as it only holds four bullets at a time.
B Rank weapons
Although these B Rank weapons have some usability, there are some caveats that make them lack when compared to higher-ranked weapons. They are okay to pick, but could use some improvement in future updates.
Kraken

The Kraken is a pump-action shotgun that deals a nasty amount of damage at close range. It’ll shred through enemy shields, but it sits at B Rank for its slow fire rate and reload speed. The Kraken also only holds four bullets at a time, so it starts lacking in fast-paced combat.
Dynasty

The Dynasty is an automatic assault rifle with decent stability and accuracy. Unfortunately, it has a slower fire rate than its counterpart, the Vanguard, and its recoil is difficult to control during ranged combat. Between this and the Vanguard, I would choose the Vanguard every time.
Corsair

The Corsair is an SMG that dishes out burstshots that can act as a helpful secondary weapon. It’s best used at close range, but apart from that, it’s not as powerful as other machine guns and can run out of ammo fast.
C Rank weapons
These C Rank weapons are some of the lower-performing weapons in Highguard. They need massive improvements to be higher in the meta, but for now, we recommend you stick with other weapons instead.
Saber Rifle

When compared to all other weapons, the Saber Rifle fails to hold up. It’s a burst rifle with a slow rate of fire that doesn’t work well in close combat. Although you can modify the Saber Rifle, it feels inadequate with how long it takes to fire between shots.
Longhorn

The Longhorn sits at the lowest tier due to its slower fire rate and reliance on accuracy. If you have good aim, you can find a use for it, but the Longhorn is more suitable for tearing down walls if you have the Base Breaker modification.
