At the start of Lyle’s story, you are directed to two locations to deal with two targets given by the Dawn Chorus. While one is easy, the Limestone Cave might be a little tricky, so we’re here to help.

Where to Start

The map for Corroded Scar is unfortunately annoying, as it looks like Limestone Cave is available topside, but you will actually have to take the elevator down at the Forward Base Two Mistle. Once at the bottom, head into the cave to your right and continue east. You’ll eventually end up in a cave system.

Despite the actual map marker being so much farther north, you’ll come to the Cavern Encampment location not long into your journey, with the Map Jammer not far past it. Only a little further ahead of this will be the first Mistle and the actual start of the Limestone Cave.

As you can see, off to the left of the Mistls overlooking the immediate area, there is a boss fog door down the way, and that is our only path forward.

If you’re slow and careful about it, you can just slide down the two cliffs to get to the boss door and not have to waste time going all the way around. Heading into the fog door will start a fight with the Ravenous Predator

Ravenous Predator Boss Fight

There’s no real trick to this fight, though I was level 49 with a Rank-A Blood Code when I took this on. The Ravenous Predator is all physical, with plenty of thrashing and slam attacks.

Unlike advice I have given in other boss guides, you’ll want to stick close to the boss and just overwhelm it with attacks. It does have a two-hit combo smash attack, but at this point, I’m sure you can tank that and just keep attacking. Lyle is a fantastic partner in this fight, so you’ll likely have this thing down to half before you know it.

Beating the Ravenous Predator awards you 7,000 Haze and finishes the Limestone Cave quest. You can continue further into the cave, but there’s not much to see before it even exits out to the Plateau Base Camp.

With this, head back to Craig at Forward Base Two and continue Lyle’s story.
