There are eight Wardens to play as in Highguard, each with their own special abilities that uniquely set them apart. Although they all have interesting tactical, passive, and ultimate powers, some Wardens are just better than others.

As new Wardens are released through future updates, the meta will inevitably shift. But for now, these are all the Wardens in Highguard in a ranked tier list.

All Wardens in Highguard, ranked

S Rank Wardens

S Rank Wardens are the best Wardens to play as in the current meta. They’re both strong on their own and great in any team comp.

Mara

After playing many games as Mara, she is surprisingly a strong Support Warden to have on your team. Her best ability is her Tactical Soul Armor, which grants allies overshield. She can even add this overshield to herself, so you can grant some extra protection to the entire team.

Sacrificing downed enemies will charge this Tactical, giving you a consistent amount of Soul Armor to grant. Her Ultimate Immortal Coil is also incredible if you’re defending or attacking a base. She can place a spawn point, allowing you to grant allies easy access to Generators or Anchor Stones if you place it right.

Scarlet

Scarlet is a must-have if you’re looking for a Warden who can easily breach an enemy’s base. Her Tactical Sandstorm allows her to turn invisible, so she can easily get out of harm’s way or sneak her way onto the base without being spotted.

Although her Ultimate Whirling Blades is good for attacking enemies, her best ability is Shifting Sands, her Passive. Scarlet can turn any destructible wall into sand, so she can bypass walls even if they’re reinforced. Use her to easily plant bombs onto Generators and Anchor Stones.

Ekon

Ekon is the first Warden added to Highguard since launch, and he’s already top of the meta. His Passive Dread will reveal the heartbeat of wounded enemies, so it basically reveals anyone with low health nearby. This works with his Ultimate Fearsome Howl that applies Dread to all enemies on the map while increasing your movement speed.

By far, his best ability is his Tactical Wolf Spirit, where he can launch a spirit wolf to hunt the closest enemy and apply Dread. It can travel long distances and move through structures. Also, he turns into a direwolf instead of mounting one, which can also attack enemies with a bite attack.

A Rank Wardens

A Rank Wardens are nearly as good as S Rank, but there are some aspects to their builds that leave much room for improvement. They’re still great picks and should be heavily considered in your team comps.

Redmane

Redmane is a good Assault Warden who has abilities that can both destroy walls and damage enemies. His Tactical Pounce lets him smash through breakable walls, so no weapon is needed. This move can also hurt enemies, just like his Ultimate Beast’s Roar.

Beast’s Roar destroys walls and objects in front of him while also hurting enemies. On top of all that, his Passive Enraged gives him a movement and reload speed buff after killing enemies. You can go on a true killing streak with Redmane while also being helpful when trying to gain access to enemy Generators and Anchor Stones.

Atticus

Atticus is also a decent Assault Warden who has an incredibly annoying ability (only for the enemy team) called Shockspear. This Tactical sends a spear that shocks and damages nearby enemies, and it’s not fun being on the other side of this ability.

The damage this deals charges his Passive Supercharged Axe, and if you release your axe, it will cause an electrical explosion. His Passive is quite forgettable, but he has a decent Ultimate called Powerstorm that has him rain down lightning spears that you can aim at enemies and destructible structures.

B Rank Wardens

B Rank Wardens have some downsides to them that leave them lacking, but they still can prove useful on your team. Hopefully, they can be improved upon in future updates to make them stronger.

Kai

Kai’s build is great when it comes to his Ultimate Frost Giant that lets him transform into an ice demon. He can throw up a shield, as well as smash enemies and structures in front of him. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have separate health, so if the giant dies, Kai dies as well.

His Passive Frozen Repair is helpful when defending since he can instantly restore broken walls. Unfortunately, his Tactical Ice Wall is lacking as it can be easily destroyed by enemies, and when he pushes it, it moves too slowly.

Slade

Slade isn’t one of the best Assault Wardens you can pick, but there are aspects of him that are still decent. His Passive Firebomb turns his grenades into a fire explosion, but it still has a long cooldown. He can be quite destructive with his Tactical Heatwave that sends a wave of molten fire, but it’s only a thin line, and enemies can easily dodge it.

It’s a little harder to dodge his Ultimate Firestorm that rains down fire in a targeted area. But other than that, the other Assault Wardens feel stronger in the current meta.

C Rank Wardens

C Rank Wardens are the worst Wardens to pick in the current meta, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. They have some interesting abilities, but when compared to all other Wardens, there’s a lot lacking in their kits.

Condor

Condor’s only good ability right now is her Tactical Eyes in the Sky, which can scan to detect enemies. Sadly, enemies can stand still to avoid getting caught, so it makes it useless if not caught. Her Passive does warn her when enemies are nearby, but her Ultimate feels half-baked and more useful as a Tactical.

Soaring Guardian launches three smoke clouds that also reveal enemies, but it still makes it hard for your team to see through. With how long it takes for the Ultimates to charge, it doesn’t feel very powerful. She is also vulnerable when launching the smokes, so it can’t be used in close combat.

Una

Una’s kit is focused on the spirits that she summons. She can summon Forest Wisps that throw grenades at enemies, but they don’t feel strong enough to counter other Wardens. Even her Ultimate Tree Walker throws explosive spirits at enemies, but it would serve better if it physically attacked enemies instead of slowly throwing explosives that you can easily dodge.

Her Passive Helping Hand allows her spirits to give Una loot, which sounds useful at first, but with how much time you get to loot, it doesn’t feel like a worthwhile ability. Una has a lot of potential, but for now, she’s not the best Warden to pick.
