We’ve reached an important story moment in Code Vein 2, and you better believe that culminates in a boss fight. This time, the boss in question is Darkborn Leader, and we are going to help make sure you are prepared for this fight. As always, make sure you are leveled up if possible, and if it is anywhere close, leave the area and grind up your Blood Code.
Where to Find Darkborn Leader Boss in Code Vein 2
As part of the Josee main quest, you’ll be in the Sunken City of the past and must accompany her into the Seized Substation, which is west of where you fought Mutated Survivor Bernd.
You’ll make your way through the area through, as usual, pretty linear corridors designed to eventually funnel you to the boss, and you’ll eventually spot it through a window at the top of the whole structure.

Darkborn Leader Boss Strategy
I was level 25 when I took on this boss, which is a pretty solid spot. I still have the same C-Rank Blood Code from Lou, which has served me well so far.
On the whole, this boss doesn’t have all that much health. While I was busy taking the boss’s aggro, Josee was dealing some terrific damage, and it led to a pretty quick victory, especially when compared to some of the previous bosses I’ve gone up against.
However, offensively, Darkblood Leader has some of the worst attacks I’ve had to face and requires some pinpoint dodging to avoid getting immediately eliminated.
The first attack that you’ll get hit with is two ground waves of electricity. It doesn’t seem that these build any sort of status effect, but they still hit unexpectedly hard. I was able to roll through it, but as there are two waves, it can be tricky.
The worst attack is when the boss calls lightning down on you from above. It will hunker down for a second before unleashing a burst of three strikes.

It’s hard to convey the timing of this in writing, so you might need to tank one of them to see. The trick is to dodge right as you’re about to get hit, because too early or too late still hurts.
For winning this fight, you are awarded 3,400 Haze. Nothing too fancy, but the room after the boss has a chest containing a new Jail.
With that, Darkborn Leader is defeated, and you can travel back to Josee’s Outpost to continue the story. Be sure to stick with us as we will continue to bring you guides on all the bosses Code Vein 2 has to offer.
