Defending your base from enemy Wardens is one of the main aspects of Highguard matches. Although you may be good at tearing down walls on enemy territory, how confident are you that you can protect your own?
Keeping your base protected is crucial for winning, and there are a few different methods you can use to secure that win. Here are some tips for defending your base in Highguard.
Best ways to defend your base in Highguard
When attempting to defend your base in Highguard, you should consider whether the Warden you chose can benefit its protection, the main points of interest, and where you’re placing reinforced walls.
Choose a defensive Warden

Although some of the Wardens prove useful when breaking down enemy walls, others are good for building and protecting them. The best Warden for keeping your base protected is Kai.
Kai’s passive ability allows him to repair broken walls using ice. This ability doesn’t have a cooldown, so you can use it as many times as you want after the enemy has broken down parts of your base.
Another good defensive Warden is Una. Her tactical ability summons mischievous little spirits that will throw grenades at enemies, while her ultimate ability summons a larger forest spirit that also lobs explosives. When playing as Una, place these spirits by your Generators and Anchor Stone to fend off enemies.
Protect the Generators and Anchor Stone

Compared to the entirety of your base, keep a watchful eye on your two Generators and your one Anchor Stone. The Anchor Stone is harder for enemies to breach, so you should prioritize protecting the Generators.
That said, destroying the Anchor Stone means you’ve lost the game, but destroying a generator deals only 35 damage to your base. The Anchor Stone also has a longer countdown, meaning you can get to defusing it faster. So take all that into account when protecting these points of interest.
Reinforce walls correctly

At the start of every game, each player has five wall reinforcements. You shouldn’t be placing these on whatever wall you first see. Take into account where your Generators are and which walls the enemy will try to get through first.
Prioritize reinforcing the walls surrounding your Generators and your Anchor Stone. It’s hard when you only have five, but your team will have a total of 15, so work together to protect all three points of interest. You don’t want one Generator being fully reinforced, but the other without any protection.
