This is likely to be the first boss you encounter, but that doesn’t mean it will be an easy one. Code Vein 2 lacks a definitive tutorial boss, so any one you run across will still put up a challenge. If you’re struggling against Edward the Lost Corporal, we might be able to help.

Where to Find Edward the Lost Corporal Boss in Code Vein 2

You’ll find good ol’ Edward at the back of the Ruins area on the far south end of MagMell Island. While you could possibly just stumble across this enemy, you should make sure to talk to the Mechanic near the Ruins mistle, just to finish one request and start his.

The boss chamber is at the very back of the Ruins area. There will be a long staircase that you can’t miss after making your way up the ramps. This isn’t a very complicated or big area, so you should find your way there without issue.

Edward the Lost Corporal Boss Strategy

I don’t think this fight is all that demanding in either stats or equipment. I was level six when I took Edward on, and I had the Deluxe edition Ame-no-Habakiri Greatsword with me. However, I am sure I could’ve done just as well, if not better, with the Tainted Halberd that enemies in the ruins can drop.

Edward is very bulky, so you can expect him not to move all that quickly. The big hammer he swings will still do some solid damage, so be on the lookout for it. There’s typically a two-swing combo followed by an overhead smash that is the bulk of his moveset. Putting yourself at his back will help here and let your partner draw focus.

The most damaging attack Edward has is an AoE (area of effect) one, where he stands in one place and extends his free arm into the air. Watch for this lead-up, as he will then rain these red blobs down around him that turn into a puddle that does some hefty damage if you get caught in it.

Noah didn’t really care about the AoE, and at one point, Edward was susceptible to a Super Drain Attack while still in the AoE. While those are always worth doing, I did take a decent hit to step up and do it.
If you wish, you can always use the Stateman’s Longbow that was on your path to the boss, but I didn’t find that it did enough damage to matter.

In short, as long as you stay quick on your feet and try to keep to Edward’s back, you shouldn’t get too banged up while you whittle down his impressive health pool.

As a reward, I got 1,500 Haze and the Formae Power Enhancing Forma key item that the Mechanic wanted, which will complete that quest when you talk to him after the boss is dead.

We’ll be writing up all sorts of Boss guides for Code Vein 2, so if you ever come across something you just can’t beat, we’ll have you covered.
