Lindsey Jordan has announced her third studio album, Ricochet, the first in five years. Due out March 27, the release comes after 2021’s Valentine, which was well recieved as a maturation of her indie-rock sound.
Her 2021 Valentine tour was interupted by vocal cord surgery and months of intensive speech therapy.
“I’ve been going to speech therapy weekly and these surgeon follow-ups, doing a lot of exercises every single day with my vocals, and reteaching myself—with speech therapy and discipline and exercise—correct speaking techniques. And we haven’t even gotten into singing yet! But that’s supposed to start soon. I just got cleared yesterday, actually, in my second follow up with my surgeon, that everything is looking good and everything will be on time with the tour, which is cool! I’ll be honest, I was not expecting that.”
Since then, Jordan has kept a lower profile, prioritizing recovery, mental health, and long-term sustainability over constant output. In late 2020, she spent time in rehab to reset creatively and mentally. In 2023, she released Valentine (Demos), gradually returning to touring, she curated Baltimore’s Valentine Fest, and appeared in the 2024 film I Saw the TV Glow. That stretch of regrouping now leads into Ricochet, described by Matador Records as a return to “clarity and control.”
The announcement comes alongside the album’s lead single “Dead End” and a North American and UK tour scheduled to begin this spring.
