There is a ton of flora to be found in Arcadia-7, but some of it only shows up under specific circumstances, like the Oxallop, for example. If you’re playing StarRupture and wondering how to get Star Tears, you might be surprised when you figure out why this pesky plant seems so rare.

Why You Can’t Find Star Tears in StarRupture

Like the aforementioned Oxallop, Star Tears only show up following a Rupture, but they don’t spawn temporarily before disappearing. Instead, they only spawn in location where there previously was an Ignitium ore.

Crucially, though, the Star Tears only show up if you don’t farm the Ignitium (you can technically do both, but that is a bug that is sure to be patched out eventually).

So if you run around after a rupture eruption and mine every Ignitium you chance upon, you won’t bump into any Star Tears unless you search in an entirely different area.

How To Get Star Tears In StarRupture

So, if you are farming Star Tears in StarRupture you, don’t want to be farming any Ignitium simultaneously. Farm them in separate occasions.

Like Ignitium, there aren’t specific locations to farm Star Tears in. You simply wait for Arcadia-7 to finish regenerating following an eruption and you walk around looking for the shiny blue dots on top of small rocks.

What To Do With Star Tears

While you can consume Star Tears for a minor effect, like all other plants in StarRupture, you will ideally want to actually bring them back in your base so you can invest into the many recipes which require these.

If you eat a Star Tear, you’ll recover 20 HP and gain 5 Toxicity, which can come in handy if you’re Medtool is on cooldown and you’re in a pinch. But if you check the Food Station half of your Recipe Station, you’ll find out that most recipes require Star Tears to develop.

In total, you need it for:

  • Calorie Fluid
  • Aqua Fluid
  • Nutri Fluid
  • Antidote Fluid
  • Star Bites
  • Health Shards
  • Regen Capsules

You do need some Ignitium to progress further into StarRupture, and you get decent Data Points if you bring it to your Analysis Station, but Star Tears end up being much more useful for the majority of your playthrough. So let those Ignitium ores cooldown and reap your rewards by harvesting the Star Tears they leave behind.
