Given its impressive debut with over 40k CCU on Steam, it isn’t surprising that StarRupture has already gotten a dedicated page at Nexus mods.
The most dedicated players have already gotten to work fixing problems and making things easier (and usually faster) for everyone. Here is how to install game mods for StarRupture, and the best ones you can get right now.

How To Install Mods For StarRupture

This technically depends on each mod, but from all we’ve seen so far, all of them boil down to: extract X number of files into folder Y. One mod or another might use an installation step, but it will essentially do the same thing in the end.

If you are having trouble finding StarRupture’s folder, just follow these steps:
- Open Steam and head to your Library.
- Right click StarRupture and press Properties.
- Head into the Installed Files tab on the left side of the window.
- Press Browse and the game’s folder will open.
Most of the mods we saw then asked you to open the StarRupture folder (inside the original StarRupture folder, yes), open Content, and then Paks. But again, simply follow the installation steps on each mod and you will be fine.
Best StarRupture Mods
As usual with these Early Access releases, most of the best mods are some sort of Quality of Life change that will eventually officially be added to the game. But until that day comes, these are the best StarRupture mods out there.
Faster Leveling
Leveling in StarRupture can be a bit of a slog, especially if you spend a lot of time optimizing your base. This mod simply speeds up that process: “speeds up main stats leveling – x2 at the beginning and ~x1.3 closer to max levels to make early game more convenient.
Also slots unlocked slightly earlier (~5 level earlier).”

Player Tweaks
Speaking of slog, Arcadia-7 is too big for how fast our poor character runs. Add to that how slow stamina recharges and you get a double-slog. Player Tweaks helps you traverse the map faster with two simple changes: “sprint/walk/crouch speed increased by 25%, stamina(energy) drain 50% lower and stamina recovers 50% faster”.
Ore Stack 500
I love inventory management as much as the next person, but StarRupture is severely lacking in that department in this initial Early Access stage. You cannot sort containers or auto-deposit items which are already inside them, which is a bummer.
This mod does not fix that, but will allow you to stack all ores all the way to 500, instead of the default 100, so you can have much less storage containers with the same effective items.
Better Construction Drone

We praised StarRupture’s Building Drone in a recent article(LINK TO UNPUBLISHED BUILDING DONE PRICE HERE), but this mod makes it even better. It makes no sense that the drone has such a short range from the character in the first place. Tech has evolved to a point in which we’re spawning structures out of thing air, but the Building Drone has less range than our commercially sold ones?

More Electricity
As we mentioned in our beginner tips & tricks article, upgrading your base core does raise its cooling capabilities and, consequently, how much stuff you can build around that core, but it simply not worth it given the alien invasions.
While you can get around this by expanding your base through multiple cores, this mod helps by making power generating buildings produce 5x the same amount of energy. Less buildings means less heat, which allows you to create a much bigger base under the same core.
To keep it fair, though, the mod also increases the building costs by the same 5x multiplier, which we appreciate.
