There is a saying in Portuguese, no meio está a virtude, which translates to “the virtue is in the middle”. Focusing solely on the literal sense of the expression is how we got to our choice.

This is the best location for your first base in StarRupture. It is good enough that you can settle here for the large majority of your playthrough, or through its entirety if you make good use of later game tools.

Best Base Location in StarRupture

Let us preface this by letting you know that it is fine to build a base right outside of the Orbital Lander crater. This location will be fine for the first couple of hours as it has both Titanium and Wolfram. You should change when you start needing Calcium and Helium-3.

When that moment comes, you’ll know that it is time to move your base to the best location in StarRupture, right here:

We left the Orbital Lander highlighted on the map so you can reach our location even if you haven’t revealed it yet. Not only does this location look suspiciously built into a clearing in the map itself, it is almost exactly at the center of it.

This is the case even if you include the radiated areas of the map, which you might or might not be able to visit during this Early Access period (don’t worry, we don’t do spoilers here).

While its centrality is one of the main factors in making this the best location for your first StarRupture base, it isn’t the biggest one, especially early on. WHat makes this location prime real estate is that it has access to the four resources which you’ll need to consistently farm for the majority of your playthrough, and they’re all relatively close.

Titanium (Blue On Map)

Although this is a basic resource, it is one you’ll be farming for the entirety of your playthrough, likely through multiple Excavators when you start progressing. This area is quite close to four Titanium deposits situated to the East on higher ground, allowing easy transportation.

Wolfram (Orange On Map)

Much like Titanium, this is a basic and abundant resource that will remain mandatory for all your time spent on Arcadia-7. You’ll find four Wolfram deposits to the North of this location, so you can expand your operations quite considerably.

Calcium (Yellow On Map)

The third ore that completes our mineral trifecta for the majority of StarRupture’s Early Access is Calcium, and it is the key that makes this location stand out. There are four Calcium deposits to the West of the location, allowing you to create three distinct routes for each ore you farm.

Helium-3 (Pink On Map)

Farming Helium-3 isn’t ideal in this location, but the extractors farm it so quickly that it doesn’t end up being a problem. You can set up a long rail system through the mountains to the East of the location, slightly South of the Titanium ores to avoid collision, and you’ll get a steady supply of Helium-3 from these two deposits.

When To Move On From Here

What makes this StarRupture’s best location for your first base is how much time you can spend here. Unless you are vehemently against the long rail system that you need to create to get Helium-3, there is no reason to move on from here until you start farming Sulphur.

But you can’t farm Sulphur until you reach level 9 with the Selenium Corporation, which unlocks the Sulphur Extractor. Getting to this point will take you a lot of time in StarRupture, so, in the meantime, you can rest easy in our iddilic location.
