All Enemy Types in StarRupture and How to Kill Them

The alien enemies in StarRupture are called Vermins. They appear randomly across the map and often attack in swarms. So if you are not prepared, then it is best to sneak away.
Things get intense after activating a GEO Scanner, upgrading your base, or getting to abandoned buildings to get blueprints. They will come in waves and will swarm you.
Each Vermin type behaves differently. Some fight up close, others attack from range, and a few are designed to overwhelm you if you panic.
Here’s a list of all enemies in StarRupture and how to kill them:
Young Slasher

Young Slashers are smaller and much weaker than regular Slashers. They haven’t developed any armor yet, so a single shot from your gun will kill them.
Best way to kill:
The best gun to deal with them is the MAR-9 “Phantom” AR. You don’t need to spray, one bullet is enough to kill a Young Slasher. That said, this AR is perfect for mowing them down since they tend to attack in swarms.
Slasher

Slashers are the most common type of Vermin you’ll encounter on Arcadia-7. They’ve developed body armor, so a single body shot won’t immediately kill them.
They’re extremely fast and can leap long distances straight toward you, often catching you off guard.
Best way to kill:
The best gun to use against Slashers is the SLAMS-12 Shotgun. You don’t need to run from them, face them directly so they won’t leap. One close-range shotgun blast will kill them instantly.
If you’re using a rifle or pistol, aim for their glowing red eyes to secure an instant kill. Use the scope modification to safely aim from afar.
Exploder

Exploders are the blue, blob-covered Vermins. When they spot you, they will rush straight at you and self-destruct nearby, dealing damage and disabling your shield with their infectious fog.
Other Vermins that pass through the blue fog will gain a movement speed buff, so be wary.
Best way to kill:
They should always be your top priority in a Vermin swarm. Use the MAR-9 “Phantom” AR, preferably with a scope, and take them out from a distance. Never let them get close.
Aim at their blue blob, two shots are enough to make them explode.
Spitter

Spitters are smaller, green-colored Vermins that attack by shooting toxic spits. Their attacks don’t deal much damage, but they move quickly and will constantly harass you from a distance.
Best way to kill:
The best gun to use is the MAR-9 “Phantom” AR with a scope. Wait until they stop moving and start growing their sac, then immediately shoot the sac to make it explode instantly.
Flinger

Flingers are upgraded versions of Spitters, and they look like scorpions. They are bigger, stronger, and can shoot from far away in an arc. They often stay out of sight and keep flinging toxic bombs toward you.
Best way to kill:
Look for where the bomb is coming from and head towards that location. Get close to them so they can’t hide from you, and use your SLAMS-12 Shotgun to quickly kill them before they run away.
Goliath

The hardest and tankiest Vermin in Arcadia-7. They have impenetrable body armor and can shield themselves, making it impossible for you to hit their face directly.
They will keep chasing you, and surprisingly fast. Goliaths have three sets of attacks:
- Slashes you with their armored arms
- Creates a shockwave forward and thorns from the ground that impales you
- Charges forward in straight line
Note that all of these attacks deal heavy damage. If your shield breaks (which is very likely), circle around the Goliath until your shield fully regenerates before engaging again.
Goliaths usually spawn only one per swarm, but they are the hardest to kill.
Best way to kill:
The only weak spot Goliaths have is their backside, which is not protected by armor. Wait for them to charge, when they do, pull out your SLAMS-12 Shotgun and unload your shots into their exposed back.
Two shotgun magazines should be enough to take them down.
Should You Use Your Grenade?

Definitely. When waves of Vermins swarm you and it feels overwhelming, immediately throw your grenade. The Vermins will be drawn to it and get caught in the explosion.
If the swarm is large, your grenade will regenerate quickly because you’ll kill a lot of Vermins in the process, so don’t hesitate to use it.
Now that you know all the enemy types in StarRupture, get out there and demolish these pesky aliens!
