On January 8th, just two days after release, Creepy Jar revealed the 2026 Roadmap for StarRupture, their co-op Open World base-building automation game.
Here are the Huge Updates and new features planned for StarRupture according to the 2026 Roadmap, and what we might glean by looking back at how Early Access went for the studio’s first game, Green Hell.
StarRupture 2026 Roadmap Reveals New Mechanics, Controller Support, & More

For now, there are no dates present in this roadmap, but we’ll get into speculative territory when we look back at Green Hell’s development later in the article.
Creepy Jar divided StarRupture’s Early Access roadmap in three distinct categories:
- Ongoing Improvements
- Coming In Early Access- Further split into Features, Content, and Quality of Life
- Updates coming only when 1.0 releases

This isn’t Creepy Jar’s first rodeo, and it shows. They have plans leading all the way to full release and, if Green Hell is any example, updates will keep coming long after StarRupture reaches 1.0.
At the time of writing this article, a mere three days post launch, StarRupture has already received its first hotfix, patch 0.1.1. In it, Creepy Jar address the most glaring issues noted by players in the first days of release, which belong in “Ongoing Improvements”.
Players have been requesting a lot of features too, and most of those are “Coming In Early Access”. We addressed controller support specifically in another article, as it is one of the most requested changes.

Players have been thoroughly enjoying StarRupture, but noticing that this is indeed a day one Early Access title, so there is still a lot of work to be done. Thankfully, it seems like most requests are already being worked on according to StarRupture’s Early Access Roadmap.
The most exciting additions are being saved for 1.0, of course, including a new Frost Wave, an entirely new biome, and a completion to the narrative alongside an endgame. And with that being said, here is why we think 1.0 might be closer than most expect.
What Green Hell Can Tell Us About Creepy Jar

Despite having two completely distinct settings, Green Hell and StarRupture are relatively similar games. They’re both Open-World exploration-focused co-op games with base-building mechanics.
Green Hell does have a much higher emphasis on survival mechanics and a hint of horror, but the systems and gameplay elements are similar, so it isn’t too far-fetched to expect similar development cycles between the two games.
Looking back, Green Hell came out in Early Access on August 29th, 2018. Almost exactly a year later, on September 5th, 2019, it was fully released into 1.0.
Creepy Jar haven’t given us any hints about development times and StarRupture does seem to be a more ambitious project, but we’d say it is safe to assume that StarRupture should be heading into 1.0 on the second half of 2027.
So, if things go according to plan, we should see a considerably part of the Early Access roadmap being added to the game throughout 2026.
