How to Get Oxallop in StarRupture
Oxallop is a rare plant that doesn’t appear on the planet’s surface under normal conditions. That’s because Oxallop only blooms on emptied ponds after a Rupture event.
To get Oxallop, you’ll need to wait for a Rupture event to begin, that’s when a firestorm burns the entire planet. The extreme heat evaporates bodies of water, creating the exact conditions needed for Oxallop to appear.
After the Rupture, immediately head to a now-empty pond and search the mud in the center. Oxallop uniquely blooms there during these extreme conditions, unlike other plants. It resembles a dandelion but emits a soft white glow, making it easy to spot.
Oxallop Locations in StarRupture
Not every pond will contain Oxallop. To identify which ponds can spawn it, look for the presence of mud patches in the water. If a pond has visible mud, mark that location, it’s a potential Oxallop spawn point.
One reliable location is east of the landing pod, where a pond consistently spawns Oxallop and is surrounded by all types of ores, making it one of the best base locations in the game.

Oxallop is a water-based plant, so consuming it provides some hydration. However, its real value isn’t in eating it raw, you’ll want to craft it into pills instead.
Oxallop is the key ingredient used to create pills, which are extremely useful because they temporarily stop natural hunger or hydration loss. Combining Oxallop with other raw consumables produces different results:
