Another cozy, slow life simulation game has hit the market. Heartopia is shooting to be a bright, cute, and colorful take on the popular genre, even going as far as making it free to play on PC and Mobile.

You start out with some nice hair options, but you can unlock many more as you play. The game, however, does a poor job of actually highlighting when and where you can change your hair. But don’t worry: we can tell you.

How To Change Your Hair Style (And Color) In Heartopia

The Hair Customization Screen In Heartopia, showing a male character with an updo hairstyle next to a menu.

You won’t be able to change it immediately. You have to progress through the game a little bit (maybe an hour or so?). Around the point when you start talking to the Collector about premium outfit sets, you should get a letter from Dorothee mentioning that, thanks to your help, she can focus on styling again.

The letter then tells you to visit the vanity table on the second floor of the clothing store and interact with it to change your style.

From this menu, you can adjust all the physical aspects of your character, from eyes, skin, and of course, hair. A new hairstyle will cost 2,000 coins to equip. There are also a ton of styles that you won’t unlock until you reach a certain DG guild member level (either 6 or 10). premium hairstyles also appear here.

A Note On Multicolor Hair

You may notice that several hairstyles appear multiple times in the menu. This is because they’re the same shape, but offer different patterns for multicolor hair. Using the eye dropper icon on the left, you can set a main color and an accent color. If all of the styles look identical, its because both colors are set to the same color.

Is this terribly important information? No. But this was a short guide with a simple answer. And the digital powers that be would really prefer that articles be at least a certain size, so you’ll have to forgive us for a touch of filler here at the end.

So enjoy dressing up, Heartopia fans!
