With a new year comes a dozen or so self-improvement resolutions, but more importantly, new movies and TV shows. When it comes to having all the hottest new releases, HBO reigns supreme. New titles are constantly airing on HBO and are being added to the streaming service HBO Max. Please note that HBO Max is the streaming home of HBO; therefore, all HBO shows are available to stream on HBO Max. However, HBO Max originals do not typically air on HBO and most are relegated to the streaming service only. Now that we’ve gotten that bit of housekeeping out of the way, let’s jump into the 10 biggest movie and TV releases coming to HBO in 2026.

10. Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022) – January 1

It’s all fun and games until someone ends up dead. HBO darlings Myha’la (Industry), Rachel Sennott (The Idol, I Love LA), and Chase Sui Wonders (Generation) star in this Gen Z horror comedy that follows a group of friends during the worst and possibly last night of their lives. Bodies Bodies Bodies is a fresh take on the classic slasher flick and a welcome addition to HBO Max’s horror catalogue.

9. The Twilight Saga (2008-2012)- January 1

Yes, you read that correctly: all four films that make up the billion-dollar franchise starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner are now available to stream on HBO Max. Whether you’re a longtime fan seeking to relive the hype or sinking your teeth into the tale for the first time, there’s nothing quite like the taste of this supernatural romance.

8. John Wick Trilogy (2014-2019) – January 1

Another stellar pickup by HBO comes in the shape of one of the greatest action franchises in recent history. The John Wick universe knocks you into the dark underbelly of society, where ruthless hitmen and accomplished assassins reside and adhere to rigid customs, mores, and traditions. Sadly, John Wick: Chapter 4 isn’t available to stream on the platform, and there’s no word on when or if it will be.

7. Constantine (2005) – January 1

Seems like HBO can’t get enough of Keanu Reeves, and who can blame them? Constantine chronicles the story of John Constantine, an exorcist thrust into the midst of a battle between Heaven and Hell in which Earth is the prize. In a world where half-demons roam, only Constantine can deliver us from evil.

6. Moonlight (2016)- January 1

Barry Jenkins’s Oscar-winning film Moonlight details the childhood, adolescence, and adulthood of Chiron, a young Black gay man growing up in an environment that is not catered to and is inherently at odds with his existence. Moonlight is a tender portrayal of self-discovery, loss, love, and disappointment that shakes you to your very core and leaves an imprint on your heart.

5. The Pitt Season 2 – January 8

Are you ready to clock in for another grueling 15-hour shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency room? The Pitt returns for a second season that’s anything but predictable. With its unique structure, season length, penchant for medical accuracy, and time between installments, the medical procedural has set a new standard for the genre.

4. Industry Season 4 – January 11

HBO’s psychosexual financial thriller’s long-awaited fourth season is finally within reach. Early reviews of the season confirm that the standard of excellence the show set when it debuted in 2020 has been maintained. Get ready for another season of power plays, backstabbing, and finance jargon that requires being an active reader of Bloomberg News to understand.

3. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – January 18

The George R.R. Martin cinematic universe continues to expand with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Based on Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg series, this latest adaptation is unlike its predecessors in terms of scale. Once again we return to Westeros; however, this time we’re treated to a smaller, more intimate, and character-driven story. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms may just be a much-needed breath of fresh air.

2. Euphoria Season 3 – April

The third season of Sam Levinson’s highly stylized and gritty drama is eyeing an April release. However, the exact date of the popular HBO series’ return remains unknown. Two-time Emmy winner Zendaya reprises her role as Rue alongside Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow four years after the premiere of Euphoria Season 2. Far away from the bubble of high school, adulthood brings its own woes. No matter how bad things get, at least we have Labrinth’s score to guide us through.

1. House of the Dragon Season 3 – TBA

2026 is the year of Game of Thrones prequels. House of the Dragon Season 3 has been confirmed to be releasing this year. What’s better than dragons and battles? How about dragon battles? House of the Dragon has nailed the art of spectacle whilst still managing to explore complex interpersonal dynamics and inner turmoil.

HBO’s laundry list of new releases proves that 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most memorable years in film and television history.
