Are you feeling confused about what to do, where to go, or who to fight when you first start Devil Hunter on Roblox? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Devil Hunter can feel overwhelming at first due to its many systems and choices. To help you kick-start your journey and make better progress early on, here are some beginner tips and tricks!

Pick Your Race Carefully

First things first, and this is an important one! Right at the start, you’ll choose between Human or Fiend. This choice matters a lot because it changes how you play the entire game.

If you go Human, you get higher health and can use any weapon you want. You’ll also sign contracts with devils to get special powers. The downside? You don’t heal on your own, and some contracts give you annoying debuffs like blindness.

If you pick Fiend, you get passive health regeneration, which means you heal without doing anything. You’re tankier and great for solo play. But you’re stuck with one weapon type and can’t sign contracts. For beginners who want to play it safe, Fiend is usually the easier choice.

Honestly, it’s recommended to start as a Human, as the fighting style options are broader and more fun to play.

Join Division 5 First

After talking to the first NPC, you’ll receive a quest to speak with all the Division Captains. After that, you’ll be asked to join one of them. The best Division to join early on is Division 5, led by Sana. Its tasks are simple, usually involving buying items and crafting materials. This lets you level up quickly and earn Yen without having to run all over the map.

If you’re a Human, grab a weapon from the Armory. The Katana or Dagger works best early on because they have good range and hit reliably. Different weapons give you a different set of skills, so choose carefully.

Master Combat Basics

Devil Hunter has a few key controls you need to master to fight better:

  • Q for Dash: Double-tap Q to dash far. You can even use it mid-air to move vertically.
  • T for Follow-up: When you see a yellow [T] on screen after hitting an enemy, press it immediately for a powerful finisher.
  • F for Parry: This is huge. Time your block right when an attack is about to hit you. A successful parry stuns the enemy and deals massive damage.

Practice parrying at the Park until you can do it consistently. It’ll save your life in tougher fights.

Farm Raids Smartly

Raids give you the best rewards, but they have a 1-hour cooldown, so don’t waste them.

  • Hotel Raid (near HQ): Best for XP when you’re level 10-15
  • School Raid (next to the Hotel): Farm Mastery Books here to unlock better weapon skills
  • Zombie Raid (Industrial Warehouse): Fiends need this for defensive talents

Save the Katana Man Raid for later, it’s endgame content and you’ll get destroyed without proper parry skills.

Don’t Waste Your Gems

This is the biggest mistake beginners make. Never spend gems on cosmetics early. Save them for weapon upgrades and essential gear. Focus on upgrading your main weapon and one piece of armor first. Everything else can wait.

Use a Skateboard!

Sooner or later, running around on foot will start to feel tedious. Thankfully, there’s a simple solution: a skateboard. You can find the Skateboard Shop just a couple of blocks away from the HQ. Press N to show the exact location of the shop.

Buy a board, equip it, and press H to ride it. This makes traveling so much faster. You’ll thank yourself when you’re doing Division 5 missions back and forth.

Quick Daily Routine

Here’s what you should do every time you log in:

  1. Complete Division 5 missions
  2. Run one raid (Hotel or School depending on your level)
  3. Do daily contracts for steady XP
  4. Participate in clan activities if you’re in one

One Last Thing

If your screen suddenly goes dark, you have a Blindness debuff from a contract. Go to Floor 0 (the elevator floor) and find the NPC who removes debuffs. Don’t play blind, it’s not worth the struggle.

Now that you know the basics of Devil Hunter, you won’t be running around aimlessly anymore. Focus on these fundamentals, avoid common traps, and you’ll reach the mid-game much faster than most players.
