Between the holidays and the massive PlayStation sale currently happening, it is expected that the release of smaller games might go unnoticed. That’s the case with a free game that I never caught when it dropped on Christmas Eve. However, it is worth picking up for trophy hunters, as it sports a pretty easy trophy list at no cost to you.
The game is called Coloring Book, and it was only released for the PS4 for some reason. It’s one of those free games with a small base game with tons of paid DLC if you want more content. This isn’t necessary for the platinum, but each piece of DLC does add more trophies. There are 22 (not including platinum) trophies, but they aren’t all bland.
A majority of the trophies (13) are simply for coloring every single page included in the base game. Coloring is a simple process, and you can swap between several tools to fill out each page (as required for the related trophy) in a couple of minutes.

The more interesting trophies have you using only a single color, or 20 (with a trophy unlocked every five increments) different colors on a single picture. As there are 21 separate pictures to color, it was easy to get all the trophies in that span. So, when the last picture was done, I had the platinum wrapped up.
As you can probably tell, you aren’t expecting a very lengthy effort with Coloring Book. From start to finish, it took me roughly 25 minutes to get every trophy, so anyone could easily have this done in under 30 minutes.
It’s not even all that bad, honestly, especially compared with other free games with an easy platinum. Sure, it’s simple, and I wouldn’t be surprised to learn all the pictures were made with AI, but I think small kids could actually enjoy it. So, you know, get a free, easy platinum and entertain your kids. It is available on Xbox as well, for those more achievement-inclined.
