Since its launch, Love and Deepspace has continued to expand its world through cinematic storytelling, multi-layered features, events, mini-games, and a growing roster of love interests. With major updates in the past, including Version 3.0 introducing Caleb, the game has now reached Version 5.0. At present, fans have become increasingly eager to see whether a sixth love interest is coming soon or not.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, several narrative clues and characters seen across the game have fueled ongoing speculations. From standout NPCs like Gideon and Thomas to intriguing hints tied to Rafayel’s rival from the EVER organization, players believe some groundwork has been laid out for a new romance route. If you’re curious as well, we’ve broken down the possibilities of a sixth love interest coming in Love and Deepspace right here.

What Patterns Can We Spot from Previous Love Interest Releases?

Looking back, Love and Deepspace rarely introduces new romance options without buildups. Existing characters from the original roster of Xavier, Zayne, and Rafayel are expanded and subtly foreshadowed through recurring story appearances and interactions. Sylus was hinted at as being Onychinus’s leader, while Caleb was hinted at through apple motifs, and the death certificate the Main Character was “forced to accept.”

Additionally, a notable pattern theory in the game is how love interests are often positioned as narrative foils or rivals to one another. Each of the newer love interests has a rival from the original roster. A notable example is Sylus against Xavier, with the latter being a Deepspace Hunter for the UNICORNS and Sylus being the outlaw leader of Onychinus. The aesthetics of both characters and their evol powers are opposites, with Xavier being of light and Sylus of dark energy.

The same goes for Zayne and Caleb. However, they share a historical rivalry over their childhood connection to the Main Character. Zayne is the Main Character’s friend from childhood, and now a doctor. Caleb is the Main Character’s adopted older brother. The animosity between the two is further fueled when Caleb shows some jealousy when Grandma Josephine mentions inviting Zayne to dinner before the house explosion.

Because of patterns such as these, the community has come to make assumptions that the sixth love interest may become a foil to an existing love interest. With the aforementioned pairings, it’s possible the sixth love interest can come from the opposite of Rafayel.

Which NPCs Are Fueling the 6th Love Interest Theories?

NPCs often serve as narrative anchors with limited screen time that gradually expand. This has led to players closely monitoring side characters, especially those with open-ended arcs or having distinct chemistry with the protagonist.

Gideon

Gideon is one of the most talked-about candidates as the 6th love interest. He has a mysterious yet friendly presence that makes him a natural focal point for speculation. Players would often see him appearing at pivotal story moments and being an adorable and dorky character, especially with his interactions with the Main Character and Caleb. But the fact that Gideon is a friend of Caleb’s makes the chances of him being the sixth love interest quite low.

Thomas

Thomas is a friend and agent of Rafayel, who owns Flux Arts. He used to compete with Rafayel in creating art, but presently curates it. In the main story, the Main Character meets Thomas after her first investigation into the sudden, strange behavior of famous art collector, Raymond.

While Thomas has an interesting background, being tied to Rafayel and being his former competitor, it seems impossible for him to become the 6th love interest, as canonically, he has a wife named Solana and has an unnamed daughter. Despite this, fans have still shown some love to his character.

Nero

Then we have Nero. As a colleague of the Main Character, Xavier, Tara, and Jenna at the Hunters Association, he is a data analyst who also runs a fan blog dedicated to Lumiere. While Nero seems like a quiet presence, he has a huge bulk of knowledge on Wanderers that helps the Hunters Association with their missions, such as when the Main Character asked him about rare Wanderers and the mysterious eye she saw outside her window in the game’s prologue chapters.

While all of these NPCs have grown into fan-favorites throughout the run of Love and Deepspace since its launch, there still haven’t been any developments of their growing role alongside the Main Character and the current roster of love interests.

Could Rafayel’s Rival from EVER be the 6th Love Interest?

Community theories have also been circulating that the sixth love interest could be tied to Rafayel, especially being the leader of the EVER organization, which is connected to the Main Character’s forgotten past. He could be a “dark” counterpart to Rafayel’s “lighthearted” persona. Plus, Rafayel hunts agents from EVER to keep them from continuing their experiments, subsequently protecting the Main Character from them.

It would be interesting to have a rival-to-romance trope between the Main Character and a figure from EVER be her sixth love interest. There’s a lot of potential for emotional conflict, clashing ideals, and shared history that can create compelling romantic tension.

Is a 6th Love Interest Actually Coming?

With all these hints, theories, and beliefs, the idea of a sixth love interest isn’t that far-fetched. In the options to switch love interests in-game, you can find a “Coming Soon” piece of text beside Caleb, which hints that future love interests will be added to the game.

We don’t know who the new love interest may be at present. All we can do is to continue observing and taking in the details and interactions between the beloved characters in-game and see what the devs from Infold have to offer to players in future updates of the game.

Does Love and Deepspace Still Have Room for New Romance Archetypes?

While the current lineup of love interests in Love and Deepspace feels well-balanced and is quite a handful to manage in-game, there are still some emotional and narrative gaps that can be bridged.

Each existing love interest represents a distinct approach to romance, protection, and conflict. However, most of these relationships seem to revolve around a form of familiarity, duty, and even shared history. This can make more room for additional archetypes that can challenge the protagonist in new ways, such as a golden retriever type or a character deeply tied to unresolved lore.

Love and Deepspace continues to expand its world, so the possibility of a new romance option feels like a natural next step over time. There are still a lot of possibilities and personality types that can be added to make the Main Character and the game’s fans swoon.
