If you’re wondering how the Overwatch 2 2025 Winter Wonderland event works, what’s available, and how long you have to earn your prizes, all relevant information has been included in the guide below.
Winter Wonderland 2025 Event in Overwatch 2, Explained

In Overwatch 2, the 2025 Winter Wonderland event will be available for players to participate in until January 7, 2026. During this time, the return of limited-time game modes has returned with a festive flair, such as Mischief & Magic. Other than that, there will be seasonal holiday skins featured in the Overwatch shop, and the new system ensures players are able to earn plenty of free goodies during this time by simply playing the game.
During Overwatch 2’s Winter Wonderland, players can complete matches to earn cookies. Cookies can then be used to redeem prizes in three different tracks: Jingle’s Workshop, Santa’s Sleigh, and Krampus’ Basket.
- Jingle’s Workshop features Battle Pass rewards. (XP, Tier skips etc)
- Santa’s Sleigh features cosmetics and collectibles such as sprays and hero skins. This includes the limited-time skins for Junkrat and Cassidy that are tied to the event.
- Krampus’ Basket features Loot Box rewards.

You are free to spend the cookies that you earn on any of these tracks to progress through the rewards system. In particular, though, players will want to pay attention to the Santa’s Sleigh track, as this features 2025 event exclusive items that may not return in the future. This includes the new Legendary Frozen Demon Junkrat and Frozen Mountaineer Cassidy skins as the most significant grabs.

Of course, each tier/reward of the track requires 6 cookies, so you will need to get on a bit of a grind and play a few matches out each day if you want to ensure you claim all possible rewards. Cookies are usually tied to challenges as rewards, so if you’re consistently logging in and playing each day, you should have no problem collecting all of the goodies on offer. Just be sure to check your challenges, as while most involve simply completing games in Quick Play, Competitive, or Stadium game modes, there may be others that have more specific objectives tied to them.
