We knew coming into the Game Awards that Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was set to release a new trailer, and that promise was delivered. The video reveals more aspects of Batman’s cinematic past that will be brought back in this game, plus we now know that the game is currently set to release on May 29, 2026.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Heroes and Villains Trailer
The new Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight trailer focused on various heroes and villains you will see throughout this new game. While the game will obviously focus on Batman, it was revealed that you will also be able to play as Robin, Catwoman, and Batgirl.
On the villain side, Two-Face from Batman Forever, Mr. Freeze from Batman & Robin, Firefly, Poison Ivy, and the Penguin from The Batman are joining Joker on the villain side.

Of course, with this game, a lot of Batman’s past is being honored. Similar to Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, that is the focus here. However, it is not exactly known as of now how the game will be structured.
There are parts of this trailer that look like the game may be melding all of those stories together to make one unique story, but that hasn’t necessarily been confirmed. It could use all of these different stories, separate from each other.
While the celebration of Batman’s past is definitely a big reason to look forward to Legacy of the Dark Knight, it’s the gameplay that actually interests us. The combat has a very freeflow-esque nature to it, being a great callback to the great Batman Arkham games.
This game is a big celebration for Batman, and even with it being a Lego game, things look like they could be quite fun to get into, even if the voice acting seems a little weak.
