It’s been more than 7 years since Fortnite launched, and they keep on bringing new stuff to the game, one of the newest additions being the hot air balloons. These useful ways of transport in Chapter 7 can help you move across the map, get some loot, and gain height advantage.

Finding hot air balloons is easy because they are huge. There are four balloons flying around the island right now. They follow the same routes over and over, so once you know where they go, you’ll always know where to look.

You can spot them two ways. First, just look up at the sky when you’re running around. If a balloon is nearby, you’ll see it floating above you. Second, open your map. Each balloon shows up as an icon that moves in real-time, so you can see exactly where they are.

Hot Air Balloon Station Locations

The hot air balloons in Fortnite Chapter 7 stop at five different stations around the map:

  • Southeast of Wonkeeland
  • West of Sandy Strip
  • Northeast of Sus Studios
  • North of Battlewood Boulevard
  • East of Bumpy Bay

Each station has a waiting area that shows when the next balloon arrives. A full ride takes about three minutes from one stop to the next.

How to Use Hot Air Balloons

To get onto a hot air balloon, head to one of the stations I mentioned earlier. If there’s no balloon, you might need to wait a couple of minutes for one to arrive. Once it arrives, simply jump onto the balloon to ride it.

When you get on a balloon, you can loot two containers for free items. Even if you don’t need a ride, checking these containers is worth it.

Balloons are great for traveling safely or getting high ground in fights. But watch out, they only have 2,500 HP. Enemies can shoot them down pretty fast if they see you floating around.

Once you learn the balloon routes, you can plan your moves better and reach far areas of the map without much risk.
