The best vehicles you can get in Kirby Air Riders are the Legendary Machines. These beasts are much better than the standard options, and getting them would be really advantageous for you. Getting the Legendary Machines does take a bit of work, but it’s worth it! Here’s everything you need to unlock every Legendary Machine in Kirby Air Riders.
What Are Legendary Machines?
Legendary Machines in Kirby Air Riders are special vehicles you can unlock by playing through the game’s Checklist and Road Trip mode. They’re basically the top-tier machines that give you a real edge in races and battles. There are five Legendary Machines: Dragoon, Hydra, Gigantes, and Leo.
Now, let’s take a look at how to unlock each of them:
How To Unlock Dragoon

- Collect all 3 parts from Red Boxes in City Trial Mode
Once you get it, Dragoon absolutely dominates the Air Glider and High Jump Stadium events. It’s got great flight stats and a high top speed, though it’s not the best for combat situations.
How To Unlock Hydra

- Collect all 3 parts from Red Boxes in City Trial Mode
This beast has the highest driving speed in the game. What makes Hydra really scary is that it can instantly knock out most other machines with just one hit from the front when you’re outside the Stadium. It’s perfect for races and combat.
How To Unlock Gigantes

- Collect all 3 parts from Red Boxes in City Trial Mode
- Watch the normal ending in Road Trip
Gigantes is a smaller version of the massive mechanical structure the Galactic Nova used in the Road Trip story. When you ride it in City Trial, you can literally destroy buildings and use lock-on missiles against other players.
How To Unlock Leo

- Collect all 3 parts from Red Boxes in City Trial Mode
- Defeat the true final boss (Hyper Gigantes)
- Complete 140 checklist boxes
Leo looks like a fire lion with a blue mane. It attacks automatically with its claws and can jump and pounce on enemies. You can use it in Free Run mode once unlocked.
Focus on City Trial Mode if you want to unlock these machines quickly. The Red Boxes spawn randomly, so you’ll need to play multiple matches. Once you have all 22 regular machines, you can access the true final boss fight and unlock Leo, which is the ultimate reward for completing everything.
